From: Robin Linden Many people who own land near telehubs have expressed unhappiness with the recent deployment of pinpoint teleporting. The short leadtime between the announcement and the actual implementation of the feature made adequate planning for telehub land difficult.
To compensate landowners who currently own land in the telehub regions we would like to offer to buy back telehub parcels in these regions at a price of L$10 per square meter. Parcels are eligible for Linden buy back if they were purchased between August 1 and December 8, 2005 and are located within 128 meters of the telehub (128 meters being within the line of sight of the telehub landing point).
If you own an eligible parcel that you'd like to sell back to Linden Lab, please send an email to support@lindenlab.com, with the subject heading Land Buyback. You should hear back from us between January 3 and January 6. When I bought my hub land in Siona it was NOT just a random buy..it was NOT a money making scheme or BIG mall at the hub idea. It was bought with lots of thought and consideration and LOTS of L's too ! I bought it because it was close to hub in a sim that was SO over priced I did not need to worry about a mall or club being built there. I bought for one purpose only. TO GIVE TRINGO PLAYERS AN EASILY ACCESSED LAG FREE TRINGO SPOT !I made no profit I even BOUGHT L's to give away ! but then you stacked servers and it got laggy...and THEN you killed the hubs! One other bought in the sim since you killed the hubs but not at same price I did...Philo had to take a HUGE loss just to get that one other small lot sold I just ask you do the right thing. Give me my money back for a the product I paid for that no longer exsistsI have set my land for sale for EXACTLY what I paid for it...please come buy it and compensate me P.S.This is what I'm e-mailing support also

If you just bought it to give people a place to play Tringo, why do you want money back for it? Can people no longer play Tringo there now that it isn't a Hub spot?

Was about to say that Chris - with P2P it would be very accessable - and with the malls clearing out dare I say less laggy - seems like its now made it the ideal place to have such a thing.

Because the land has been devalued plain and simple. IF I had known they were going to put P2P in like they did I sure as hell wouldn't have bought it !

If I'd known that the dollar would fall so much I'd have kept more money in pounds sterling....

From: someone I bought for one purpose only.
TO GIVE TRINGO PLAYERS AN EASILY ACCESSED LAG FREE TRINGO SPOT ! Can you still play tringo there? Is it easily accessed? Did P2P teleporting increase lag? Nuff said.

From: Bri Koolhaas I paid premium for location. It had value. No longer has same value. (another genius) If this is all about money and land value then why put things in HUGE letters saying you did it for the tringo people to enjoy? This is about money. Money you spent from your own pocket. Thats important. And there is NO need to paint yourself as a tringo savoir out to fight lag for all. Just state the financial facts and your assumptions and how this has impacted you. The "I did it for the children" attitude you spam in bold letters is uncalled for and hurts your position more than it helps because we know its about money. You arnt presenting your case to mommy and daddy, you are presenting it to LL, a business. They are perfectly fine in speaking in business/financial terms.

Bri, Consider this a lesson learned. Do not buy land expecting it to have the same value as when you bought it. A number of things can change the value of land in SL. Unfortunately, If you had purchased this land before the Buy Back dates then you'll just have to cut your losses. MJ

So you lied about only buying it to have a place for others to play Tringo. You bought it because you thought it was valuable and it was an investment. Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

Ooo my it boogles the mind We all take losses from time to time. We either accept them and move on or we have a hissy-fit.. Look at it this way, since you do claim taxes on money earned in SL, use it for a write off Assuming you do claim earnings

Unfortunately, If you had purchased this land before the Buy Back dates then you'll just have to cut your losses. MJ I bought for location...I paid premium (HUGE) for location because there WERE hubs which drew people there also. LL ripped them out very quickly. I like P2P. LL knew at the time I bought my land that hubs were to be removed. I didn't and yes I did buy in that time frame I use to be able to buy and sell land and actually make a little money to..but that was changed with advanced notice that they were making changes unlike the hub deal. I truely believe there should be an asshole tax on people that post on forums just to be one (not you MJ...and ty for your kind responce)
