Absolutely. In the US attacking a computer network is federal crime, punishable by stiff fines and jail time. I assume this is probably true in other computer-dependant countries as well. There's no reason whatsoever not to prosecute these people to the fullest extent of the law.
Beyond that, Linden Lab should file civil suits against these people as well, as should all of us who have real businesses in SL. Anyone up for a class action? I certainly am. _____________________

Yes... If they wish to protect their equipment and income i say YES. it's an attack on linden labs and all its customers. They really should do something.

I hope you have at least $20,000 laying around to do so. Criminal prosecution, on the other hand, is quite a lot less expensive. Law suits need not be expensive for plaintiffs. They can be, but they don't have to be. The idea here is to make it expensive enough for potential defendants that they'll have another reason to think twice before doing something like this. _____________________

Will the 4 ummm...dim bulbs...that voted "no" care to explain WHY? And care to explain how to curtail this activity in the future if not criminal prosecution?
Really, I'd like know why I should have to put up with griefers in SL any more than I have to put up with them in RL...someone explain. |
