To quote someone else elsewhere:

This is one of the problems with the whole set up.

The following are assumptions, but assumptions I have seen little contradictory evidence against...

1) LL takes no interest in what goes in except what is brought to their attention
2) RM's job in locking a thread is to bring a thread to LL attention
3) RMs have very wide discretion in TOS interpretation, direction from LL and in what they actually lock for further review

following this....

1) One RM, by virtue of personal interpretation, bias or timing can, wittingly or no, bring a single individuals posts to attention repeatedly and/or not at all
2) LL is, wittingly or no, given a non-representative sample of the totality of forum postings based on what is brought to their attention through RM action
3) An individual poster will get different treatment in regards to their postings and how they may or may not fit within the TOS/Forum Guidelines based on LL's skewed view of the poster's "foum history"

as such, one single RM can impact the treatment of one Poster for good or ill.

As stated here previously regarding [a person known for posting trolls about religion and politics]'s postings, they were rarely if ever locked for review. The threads in question could clearly be defined as trolling/not productive/contributing to the detriment of the forum community. In all, no less disruptive than [someone recently banned for trolling with a minor and inoffensive post in a thread that is, btw, still open], but if they are never brought to the attention of LL, then that poster continues his mayhem and the other is permabanned from the forums.

i honestly have to wonder if it has been conveyed properly that ResMods are not more affectual in Residents being banned/suspended than other Residnets.

we do not, by definition, have anything to do with anyone being reprimanded.

we can submit threads for review, we can submits thread to be watched.. we can submit posts to be looked into, BUT we are not a stop-gap towards anyone being banned.

if there was any action that a ResMod affectuated a suspension from, i am not aware of any such thing.. it is not visible in the ResMod forums. there does exist the possibility that a PM was used to this end, but again.. i've seen absolutely no evidence thereof.

ResMods are not responsible for bans/suspensions. it is a Linden decision; however, said decision may be influenced by threads/posts that are brought forward for Linden Review. i doon't know what happened in this case, except for hat i saw nothing leading to it until after the fact.

which, by the way, i have to agree.. odd thread/post to base a ban on.

also, agreed with Ravenelle and Infiniview.. it was a great post and it exemplifies alot of what i am about and wuold encourage in anyone else, as well.
