Cool, thanks! I'll post here when it's up. I plan to include detailed information about the airports listed, including altitudes, approach vectors, screenshots of the runways when on approach, and so forth.

Good point about HTML on a prim! Maybe I'll hold off on a few implementations with respect to this so as not to duplicate efforts when HTML comes along.

Edit: Ya, feel free to use this on a website.

Hmm... Why hold off on possible development when instead those interested in a HUD attachment like this could work together on this type of project? Instead of "forking" off into multiple different development points where one would have this feature but the other would have that feature, combine efforts to make one kick a$$ HUD attachment featuring all top notch features? While I may not be a top notch scripter or HTML programmer, I could say throw my scripting ideas, HUD form and texture ideas as well as some cash and flying time into the project testing out approach vectors and snapping pics as I go.

Looking foreward to the possibilities that may come with HTML on a prim,Havok 2, the possible transition to MONO and possible improvements to the overall vehicle physics, perhaps a massive list like this along with cool devices like a Navigation HUD could case a huge increase in the desire for aircraft in SL. The biggest problem now with owning and piloting an aircraft, unless you know people, the places to fly to and depart from are not too widely known, find places only lists a few possibilities the last time I checked. I enjoy being up in the open air but I cannot recall a single time where I have buzzed past another aviator except in the vehicle sims and Abbotts. I only mention this because there are hundreds of great aircraft out there by the Abbotts crew, the Phase 5 crew, the Aerlink crew etc, but all I really see are the aircraft parked in private hangars and helipads in my exploring moods.

You're assuming HTML on a prim will come soon or be useful. I suspect that it's may become something people disable, like local lighting, because it's too laggy. Particularly if regenerating the prim texture requires a round-trip through Gecko.

Okie doke, the list now includes Avalon Lagoon airstrip and helipads on LostFurest dAlliez.

I've completed a small HUD widget that acts as a directional wayfinder to all of the few dozen locations on the list. Essentially it is a 3D arrow that points to the runway (or helipad) wherever it is on the grid in relation to you. Jst gotta follow the arrow to get right to the landing strip. It has a simple dialog-based interface and makes navigating a bit of fun (I think). If anyone wants one to play with (free and open source) just drop me an IM inworld and I'll send you one. It is also distributed with the Onyx aircraft.

Thanks to all who have built airstrips and posted their locations here. =)

necroposting but heres a new airstrip

Its small but I recently built it, located in Meins (75,146,77) On my groups land

The airstrip is available for all flyers and there ar eno obstructions under 500 meters, our skybox is located at 600m so please avoid that airspace
