From: Selador Cellardoor I keep finding those on my property, too. Wonder if it's the same person. If they keep doing it I will regretfully have to ban them. Hmmm interesting, I had one too.

My 2 cents

I am a land owner, and ban ppl who shoot at me or my freinds, or try to blow up something. I also have ban ppl for literally dumping over 300 prims from there library files all over my sim. I developed a full sim into a park and listed in places... I ban no one for they way they dress, look or any of the other long list. Do no judge all land owers by a few.. and also remember.. we are the ones who support second life, not the un-verfied accont people.

From: Cindy Claveau I just had a thought, Fmeh. If you truly do suffer from those dysfunctions, why not try to found a support organization for people who also suffer from them? One of the beautiful things about a large virtual community is that you can always form your own sub-group to find commonality. You could turn this experience into something really positive. Support For Healing offers support groups for anxiety and panic disorders among many others. Look us up, Fmeh.

From: Margaret Mfume Me! Me! Me! Pick me! Invite me! I love teh 'shrooms! What is wrong with "those people" who do not like mushrooms? Or onions? Man, way to ruin my cooking experience! Seriously, though, I think your dinner guest acted appropriately by enjoying the delicious sauce and not calling attention to the fact that she doesn't like mushrooms. Do you really think she had never tried them? I doubt it; most adults already know on which side of the mushroom/onion fences they reside. A polite guest eats what they can at someone's table without calling attention to their own restrictive tastebuds. A good host has alternatives which enable their guest to do so. As much as I love mushrooms, I serve up a bit of sauce without them, just in case. I put any meat in a separate dish to accomodate the vegetarians. Btw, the latter group appreciates a huge portabella cooking on the grill next to the burgers at a summer cookout. You would like my chicken then, boneless breast cut open and stuffed with portabello mushrooms, some scallions and my cheese of choice.... /me drools Ok now I'm hungry >.<

BTW...I think a lot of people replying here are not understanding Fmeh's point. He is not saying that every land owner in SL holds these feelings or ban based on this list. He is saying that many landholders in SL have said here that they do ban based on one or more of these reasons or he has experienced it in SL himself. I can personally say everything on his list I have seen at least one person say they do ban for in these forums. As a new person wandering SL, you don't know how the next person will react. What was accepted and liked at land A may get you banned without warning at land B, and with no way to know beforehand.
Is every landowner a complete arse that bans left and right? Of course not and I don't think Fmeh is saying that at all. What he seems to be saying is he feels he has to walk on eggshells everywhere he goes because so many people have such crazy reasons to just drop a ban on someone for any reason imaginable and rarely hesitates to do so.
It didn't used to be that way. Things have gotten out of hand in recent months in my view and I am sorely missing the old days when we were more of a community than an unrelated group of people hiding behind locked doors.
Sure...griefing has become more an issue. Sure, most landowners are still the nicest people in the world. Yes, SL is still a wonderous and great place to be, and I love it dearly. But...there is a disturbing trend recently and it is especially hard on those new or those who may be different.
For what it's worth Fmeh, I know what you mean, and you can be assured none of those apply to me or my lands...nor to most people I associate with either. Hope to see you around SL sometime...please do join us at support for healing island too if you wish...we would love to have you. Us misfits need lovin too ya know. *smiles*

From: Kris Ritter 21. being offended by other people using their land access tools That's been stated on the forums and actioned as a reason for banning. By me. Well, being the victim of said asshattery, I can second that. Yay... the only person in the whole of SL to ban me who actually mattered to me.

From: Margaret Mfume I doubt that you'd find anyone that wouldn't be annoyed by at least one thing on a list as long as that given the right circumstances. Yep, being mindful that others might not be in sync with your own frame of mind can make social interactions go more smoothly. By people, I mean anyone, not just landowners. Getting fussy because you don't receive unconditional love and hugz everywhere you go at any given time sounds like a pretty miserable place to be at in one's existence. Developing social skills which enable you to read a situation and fit in can lead to a much more satisfying stroll through life, be it your second or your first life. Nothing on that list would annoy me. We get people dropping in on my land who match all of those things. As long as they are polite it's never a problem and we chat with them in a friendly manner. Why are people so sensitive?

Wow--I thought I had gotten over my rut earlier, but after this, I think I'll be able to be myself without really any worry anymore. If there are the people that ban me for silly reasons, then I -truly- didn't want to be there anyway, because as so many of these messages show, there are tons of really cool people who aren't so quick to judge others. Really cool to see! Thanks everyone.

That's what I love about this place. Just don't expect any support for Furry Gorean Grim babies. They're kinda outcasts.

Hi Fmeh,
you sound like a really great bloke and it's a shame that some landowners have left you with negative feelings. Feel free to drop in and say hi when you see me online. I've got some land in Mallard where you are welcome to be yourself. Not much to do there to be honest though! It's quite pretty though.
Love the name btw. What does it mean? I found a definition on the Urban Dictionary but it didn't clarify anything.

Well, my two cents differs from the extensive list at the start of this thread.
I'm pretty easy going. My Partner and I live in an un-named resident's private continent and operate a small club in Kress. I'm a firm believe that exploring is one of the coolest things about SL -and I do that a lot.
But..the things that bug me when people visit our land...
01..Appearing, drawing weapons and shooting at us and our guests. That bugs me.
02..Ignoring locked doors, walking into our home, seeking out the bedroom and asking to join in a "private monent" (complete stranger)
03..People who, after doing the 1st or 2nd items and being asked to leave, drop C4 and/or are geverally abusive.
IMO, Sl is the realm of free expression and unlimited possibilities. I don't really care how someone chooses to present the appearance of their avatar. I have Tiny, Furry, Vampire, Draconian, Drow, "Big", straight, gay/lesbian/transgender, Premium, & Free Basic and other friends in ever-changing variety. I like it that way - thats the coolness and the potential of Second Life.
Really, anything that people do consensually I can probably live with. I may not PARTICIPATE.... but thats what free choice is all about.
Haters (who grief people for being different that they want them to be) and Rude or Abusive people are about the only things that get me going.
SL is about diversity - thats the point. IMO.

Love the name btw. What does it mean? I found a definition on the Urban Dictionary but it didn't clarify anything. Well, it was something I made up just to sound weird. It was supposed to sound like someone autistic or mentally challenged saying a word like phlegm or something, it forces someone to sound weird when they say it--but now when I look online for it, there are a number of references to it--how strange. I've found these references to an actual meaning of fmeh, which I didn't even know existed: 1. An acronym for "Full Moon, Empty Heart" (song by Belly) 2. Some sort of drinking phrase: Grunting declaration of recognition among tribal drinkers, derived from a word first used in the comic-book version of the Speilberg movie "1941". Sometimes preceeded by the words "Hoo Hah!" 3. Some sort of fictional swear word used in a sci-fi context If I could have chosen the last name, it would have been Fabiche (fah-beesh). The name's Fabiche, Fmeh Fabiche.
