Humm, you know the saying "this will not end well" just doesn't cut it for this one. I will now return to my spot behind a 300ft pole.

Hople LL has a damn good lawyer and PR staff.

Sigh.

I am sure this will be but the first in a series of "exposes" to this end.

LL asks that they didn't repost? No problem, we'll just blitz the media with disinformation, hyperbole and outright lies.

Maybe they will get nailed for libel, we can only hope.

the kicker is, this was an isolated "problem" that only very few residents participated in or encountered

now, this is essentially advertising to the people who would be interested in it

see, the thing is, no matter how good intentioned, there was no child abuse, there was no kitty pr0n... it is legal. it can't be stopped under law cuz it is legal, protected speech. free speech is the first amendment, and the supreme court says child porn is only child porn if a child is harmed in it as it is essentially a record of a crime (or a crime scene). NO child, means no harm. It will be one of the last things allowed before the regulaters get here and change SL

and the FBI won't do anything about that. But the dept of labor might, so might people who regulate gambling, IRS, or morality police activests against adult content of any kind

good job bonehead. your moral crusade is gonna screw SL up, attract the kind of people you don't want (nor do most of us) , and it might as well be kids r us, as that was one of the few things that couldn't be investigated, effected, shut down, regulated, or taxed

mark this a banner day in the stoopidest SL residents life

we are ALL now vulnerable to whatever it is we didnt want. you will have more pedos to chase thanks to your free advertisement of the "service", and the rest of us will have to deal with the fallout to everything else

play some chess fool so you can think more than 1 move ahead

$L10 says he's going to google up every SL-related article and post the same comments in every article.

Bet on it. Watch those comment sections.

03-29-2006 15:28
Keep in mind this is not a CNET article, if was a person posting in the CNET news talk out fourm. I do wish linden Labs wouls seek legal action against the person who wrote the article since it is all lies.

Well that's just dandy

It's a user comment about an article not related to the topic of age play or child molestation. But... because it's in print....

At the bottom of the comment is an option to report it as offensive.

However, there is a reporter looking to do a story on this and that is not good on numerous levels.

I cant wait for this "reputable journalist" Daniel Terdiman to call Linden Labs and ask for an interview, mostly I want to see who spins what, how and where. Should be entertaining.

Stay tuned, this is a cliff hanger

You know this reminds me of the old W-Hat sh!t only to a worse extent. Almost like it was pre-planned. As far as Lordfly's comment, that would not supprise me at all.

Sad thing is, if LL had waited another month to close that deal on the funding, do you think they still would have gotten it?

I give it about 3 months before the forums are full of that. Only then it won't be a joke.

LL, a team of lawyers may be the best way to spend that money if crap like this continues.

It's mind blowing to me that this started with a person walking into a club and seeing a child-like avie who wasn't engaged in sexual activity.

Now, it's been morphed into throngs of people having child-avie sex and false allegations leveled at certain groups in SL.

The mind boggles.

And yes Mulch, this will prolly attract exactly the type of person these crusaders are obsessing about.

Well I put in my $L2.

http://news.com.com/5208-1043-0.html?forumID=1&threadID=15433&messageID=130766&start=-1&reply=true

I hope that the journalist who wants to interview this person has integrity, because they will quickly find that the poster is full of shit.

Ginsu Linden wrote the company policy again in the SL Answer section found here:

/139/c9/96283/1.html#post958976

That AGAIN wasn't good enough. The idea of taking EACH case individually, determining if there was indeed a violation of law and then acting in an appropriate manner JUST wasn't good enough.

How many THREADS did it have to take in hopes of getting Ginsu to say what you wanted?

The very organizations that would thrive on this as a way to get their foot in the door to regulate us more are no friends of the lifestyle of those that wanted the attention. Enjoy the aftershocks.

Considering the utter lack of cause, I think this will be interesting to watch. All the things that generated their concern can be easily explained away. The "sexually charged" dance club (subjective impressions of people who might have some serious issues), the "dancing suggestively" (uh, the dances are most likely canned folks; most everyone dances the same), and the "for hire" in the resident's profile (virtual married couples *do* hire residents to be their children without it being anything more than that).

Let's hope that the MSM folks resist the urge to turn this into a profit-generating headline story. Hope. Just don't count on it.

Didn't the original person who did all the threads on this topic at one point admit she was a psychologist?

Way to prove the old (and mostly BS) addage that people go into that fied because they have problems, true.

Sadly disturbed individual this.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble but I really doubt if the perverts and their police buddies will flock to SL. If they do they will probably laugh themselves silly at what they find as opposed to was portrayed in that lying piece of garbage article.
