I suppose it will take some getting use to...
Seems everytime you figure out where to post and where the threads are, the forums get revamped... I hate change =/

Well..you could just use llSetLocalRot(llEuler2Rot(... oh wait, this isn't the scripting forum anymore?

Actually, i agree with Frans, it is more logical this way.

No, it just means they're going to delete all our posts daily and send them back to us, and that you'll get shot a lot more while posting.

"~" is a sort of steampunk convention I've grown fond of... either that or valley girl--or both!--take your pick. 'Twas used to delineate thingamaroos easier during the reorg.

I wouldnt mind seeing general & offtopic at the top of this category - they are the most popular forums after all.

I've put them near, (not) far, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on...

Hmmm, yea the order could be a bit different to make more sense.
How about, General on top, followed by bulletin board. Sandbox as last with Resident-Run Websites above it. What's inbetween can stay as it is.

Ah, first pass was putting them in order of popularity size--then put the Resident-Run Websites on the very top for visibility. Bulletin Board for the same reason, as they're often specifically directed (in a friendly way, natch).

Let's see how this goes for awhile and coast it out, it's certainly malleable if it's too confusing. Thanx!

What about ordering by the number of posts? That would give us:

General
Sandbox
Land & Econ
Bulletin Board
Polisci
Volunteers & Education
Meetups & Events
ResMod
Websites
Mentors
Greeters
Instructors
Live Helpers

Maybe combine 'Volunteers & Edu' with 'Mentors', 'Greeters', 'Live Helpers' & 'Instructors', since the latter four forums dont appear to be used much.

I don't like the new arrangement.

It's a typical Linden mess, faffing about with something that did not need changing, whilst ignoring the many things that do need work.

I much prefer things in categories rather than in a big long list - good work.

One point - shouldn't the forums actually be nested in these new categories, rather than just be under them? That would make the menu a lot easier to read in the pull-down menu at the bottom of the page.... I rarely look at the front page forum list, I use New Posts and that pull-down.

And we could "roll up" the categories we've no interest in... that is what I was hoping for from this re-org.

I knew someone was going to bring this up sooner or later, and I'm glad it was you! ~*~ <--- so addicted to that

Backstory--this is what I initially wanted to do, but to say the least, there are some permissions problems and tanglement with the way the current software and things are set up. :( Yes, it doesn't make easy sense to me either... alas. The possibility exists to be explored later, but this is what it is for now.

Well, let's see... one idea... while you are here, communicating asynchronously...

*waves*

In your opinion, Lewis. In mine, it definitely needed reorganization; I've always had a hard time remembering what forums were located where, what forums certain threads best fit in, and even where certain threads had already been posted. Glad to see something done in that respect.

I posted some of my logic over here a few days ago, for the curious. I might quibble with some things (the "Sand box" name seems less intuitive than "Off-topic", not more ... and for the record, I was being facetious with my own renaming of Off-topic), but overall, I think this is definitely better. Especially grouping all the content creation forums, and moving more stuff to the top level.

Can we have a Category search engine now? Otherwise, it'll take an hour just to find the bloody category you want to post in!

I move Off Topic should be renamed "The Ultimate Sandbox of Ultimate Destiny".
