I don't know how you got yourself into this tussle, or why you continue. I also do not know you. That aside, do not attempt to state fact via labels on one's person when they are formed from your own personal opinions.

You know what labeling a person is in retrospect to an opinion is?

It's name-calling.

But, then again, the above collection of comments is also formed from an opinion, and being as such, you have the total ability in yourself to ignore it.

Anyway, people just don't normally go out and attack one another en masse for sport. It's usually just a rebellion against something they don't like.

But I would like to mention that making a reply more than once with the same contents to avoid a question, or whatever be the situation, is silly - for anyone to do.

If you want to retaliate, try harder than making Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V do the dirty all night. Make a delivery and people will follow you. The more people that follow you, the less of them will jump on the bandwagon going in the opposite direction. :3

I wanted to say the way you handled the double-entry controversy was profoundly superior to the way I handled the SenCas debacle. Not just in the way you executed and managed the thread but in how well you handled PMs, even the reactionary ones. I just feel embarrassed. Afterwards, I made a resolution to always approach community controversy with the same level of delicacy and professionalism as you did. Great job and thanks for being so kind and understanding.

I'm sad that the forums are closing, as they've been a big part of my life for a few years. Otherwise things are looking up!

Meh'. People move on. I'm sure you will too, in time. I only recently joined in on the 'action' and I can attest for there being enough delivery in these textual confines for me to warrant my sorrow in the forums' passing.

People move on. Yes, that's the thing.

We are being forcibly moved on.

Understand, I am personally thrilled to see this mess ended. Finally.

But others have pointed out that it will fracture the community, and fear that may be pretty permanent. I think they are right.

I think you don't just kick everybody out and tell them to move on without risk - that they may actually move ON, and in more ways than just from the forums.

But to me it's all part of the divorce I've been watching since I joined SL (when we were in the early stages of separation). LL will be living somewhere else, in a sense, and we're all encouraged to find new homes.

Because it is difficult to find people and things to do in the game, lots of people have made these forums a central part of their game, so it hits hard to have the discussion avenues here taken away.

To me, it's less like being kicked out of the nest by a parent, as some have compared it to, and has always been more like being divorced by a spouse, whether you like it or not.

I guess we'll see how it all works out.

Not really I think, pretty much been saying the same thing all along. It's just been a while since you got it all concentrated in one convenient thread

But all in all, if this really is The End(tm) I suppose its only fitting that it is accompanied by yet another "I'm Leaving" announcement by Ulrika/Uma/Oprah/Urkle/Okra/whoever to make it complete. Gives you a sense that even though somethings may change (i.e. the Forums closing), there is still certain consistency and predictability in the Universe that never changes.

It's been fun. I wonder if people will hold End of The Fourm Day Parties or Wakes in world to mark the passing?

Just like how everyone how hated Hitler was just doing it because it was cool at the time. Surely it isn't the fact that she says and does extremly stupid and ignorant things every damn post, or the insane mind set that when she says and does said stupid and ignorant things, she is being noble.

My bet's on mass suicides.
