Joanne... I saw your yardsale and I wrote down and posted in this thread a partial list of some of the freebies you personally were selling. For example... a bdsm style sex toy that can be found in a box of dozens of other items at Yadni's for 1L$, you had set out for 50L$. There were several others, thats only one example.

You mentioned you're a grandmother or someone else did or whatever. Irrelevant. Age and experience have nothing to do with this. You've been in SL long enough to have aquired all of the items in your yardsale so you've been here long enough to know the rules and whats acceptable and whats not.

I understand that you are feeling hurt and frustrated and attacked right now. Thats rational, you are in a way being attacked. But you have an opportunity here to take a look at all of this and try to understand WHY people are angry with you.

I will not make any comments on the guilt or innocence of the other people named as in my opinion no actual evidence has yet been established in some of their cases. The person with the initials BC for instance has yet to actually make a statement. I am aware that person has multiple full permission freebie items floating around SL (as do I). Any one of those items could be modified and still show his/her name as creator. Such a thing could happen to any one of us. Therefore until that person steps forward and makes a statement I for one will hold off judgement.

However in your case Joanne actual proof has been established. So what is the right thing to do here? The right thing to do is not to try to claim innocence and label yourself the victim. The right thing to do is to own up, apologize and simply decide to avoid doing these things in the future. If you are able to do that, it is a given that all of this will die down and life will go back to normal. Even if you choose to make no further comment at all and still simply avoid making the same mistakes again, the same will happen, life will go back to normal.

A message to Merlyn:

After speaking to the OP, and reading all the posts, and doing a bit of exploring and looking into things myself, I must stand by my original thoughts on your web site article. It is in my opinion premature and inflamatory. Granted people have stated suspicions and seen some possible evidence of things but with the exception of Joanne no actual proof of the involvement of any of the other people you named has been established. Reputations can be so easily damaged and let's be honest, any one of us as designers could very well find ourselves in the same position tomorow. I think more caution and less jumping the gun is in order.
It stinks when these things happen, when people put profit before morals but it also stinks to have one's name linked to it and have to fight to clear your record after. None of us would want it happening to our names and our businesses.

And now one by one these people come forward, to appear as if "goly gee, I have no idea what your talking about..." but to many, myself included, have talked to one or more of you about this situation. I love now that JD has all of this trouble writing in a forum, but could spell perfectly fine to me when she said "I can sell whatever I want to sell." If I hear "but I'm a grandmother" one more time..Seriously, what does that even mean, or have to do with ANY of this for that matter? The point and fact is, if these people had REALLY known nothing and were in the dark on this scam as they claim, then why not just take down the items? Why keep it up, why keep being ignorant to those trying to get the facts straight. B/c the fact is..ya, the clothes may have come down..but the knock of Del Sol items are STILL there and STILL have the creators name as Ashlin Leandros. Ever heard the term, guilty by association? Well, when you have a "yard sale" as they put it, which honestly, is just a gratified store for alot of these items since they are being sold on copy...and you are selling copies of freebies and such, you will most likely be grouped in this whole ordeal. I alerted JD the MOMENT I posted in this forum b/c not 10 mins after, I IM'd her trying to work something out..but all I got was nasty responses back, and how if she gets banned from Dazzle or any other high end store, well..any alt will fix that. Then JD started with the notecard passing. For like 4 hours after, I got several IM's from CS, and several other's trying to "Find out what was going on" b/c somehow, in RL..they are all related. The only person who even MADE sense, was CS. She is the one who TOOK down the clothes with JD right there, then to have JD throw a fit, and put them back up.. I know this for a FACT, b/c my friend was there watching this and was in yahoo voice with me. So again..looking for something to bitch about? I think the evidence stacks up enough to prove there was reason and cause for this thread to even start. Now that people have come in and started attacking others and cussing..I don't imagine it will be open very much longer, b/c of people's immaturity.

The only point I ever had to begin with this thread, was after talking to people involved in this, and them refusing to take them down, I started a thread to alert people of a scam that I had not yet heard of, even if it had been stated before. But several of the designers being ripped off, had already heard about it..so I didn't just grab a piece and run with it, I knew all of this before even posting..and added more as it developed from convo's and more witnessing itt with my eyes.

One single and last time, a big ty to all the designers who have IM'd trying to help out in anyway they can, and making this public for the RIGHT people to see. I can only hope this problem gets solved through out the entire grid.

The other names of the people involved, BC, SJ, AND VR MAY or MAY NOT have been directly linked to the knock of clothing items being sold. And that's not how it was stated. When I brought up these names and sent out the IM's I did....I asked for IM's back, to try and figure this out...my inital GUESS with BC was the she had made a full perms. shirt that someone got a hold of, retextured it and named it a Mischief item to appear that BC was ripping of Mischief textures to make a buck. I would almost bet money that's what it is...but you still want to hear it from them. I'm not out there saying BC, BC ...BC DID IT ALL...their name was brought up but no slandered. But this wasn't just my list..this was a list of names compiled together from other designers as well for people that "might" be involved. It's an open forum, and I told them all to post..I do not think that BC has been in game yet, otherwise I'm sure I would have gotten an IM. But at the same time, she needs to be alerted as well that these knock off's are being passed around as her as the creator. So she IS involved in this.
