From: Kris Ritter Assuming this still isn't some very well worn joke, and actually either way it's kind of pathetic, by her own admission she does not want to be in this 'game' anyway - she is employed to be here. Only she seems to believe that her job is to simply pump forumites for information while ignoring their advice when they give it, and without lifting a finger to help herself, if the other 10 page long thread is anything to go by. And as I said, evidently the task for the day is 'make me L$2500 a day". Which is why I'll spend approximately zero seconds helping her, and anyone with any sense will do the same! Yikes, thanks for the link to the other thread, Kris. I have to agree with those who theorize this Son person must be working for a money farm (and by the sound of it, not doing a particularly good job of it). For the record, I'm not opposed to money farming companies in principle (I actually think it's a pretty neat concept, from a far out business perspective), but unfortunately in practice, the activities such companies tend to engage in too often have a negative impact on in-game economies. It's doubtful they could have much, if any, affect on SL since there really are no resources to "farm" here, so I don't think there's any cause for concern. Still, my gut feeling is it's a little disturbing. On the other hand, perhaps we should be flattered that they've finally taken notice of us. Nirvana said they only knew they had made the big time when Weird Al spoofed their song. Similarly for us SL'ers, perhaps the fact that money farmers have taken an interest in our world means we're now sitting at the big kids' table. I doubt their interest in us will last very long since they'll soon discover how fruitless it is to try to engage in their typical business practices here, but the fact that they are exploring the possiblilty is somewhat interesting if nothing else. Anyway, Son, if you are indeed working for a money farm, my advice to you to take back to your boss would be to look elsewhere than SL. SL is not a game, not a place where you can just mindlessly kill monsters all day to collect loot or mine for gold to sell on eBay. SL is a community of mostly artists, programmers, socializers, computer geeks, etc, who happen to enjoy interacting with eachother in virtual 3D space. To make money in this world, you must actually contribute to it. You have to provide goods and/or services that people want to pay for. It's true that there have been certain loopholes here and there that have made it possible to make money for doing virtually nothing, but those holes are being closed rapidly. In short, SL's not practical as a farming resource in any way, shape, or form. You'd be far better off investing your time and effort into exploiting an actual game world. You'll find any attempt to farm SL to be a tremendous waste of time.

Why do I get the feeling that we are going to be moving, ever closer, to the point where SL wil be invaded by people walking around begging for "Ph|233 Stuffz plx"...
The only strategy to earning money in SL is to EARN it.... do something productive... Study wierd and unkown facts and take all of Travis' Money at Payment Podium (6:00, the Shelter)
It is as easy to make L$ in SL as it is to make money in RL.... just takes a little motivation and initiative...
(Be sure to check out Take it or Leave it Monday's at 4:00 @ The Art Gallery in Juanita)

This isn't quite true - you don't have the option of flipping burgers in SL.

I've been making on the average 750 to 1000 (after expenses) per day playing slingo. But then again, I think I'm being very lucky so far! And I play only 2 hours max. I don't spend more than 20% of what I make to play the game next day. I don't understand the people who sit on chairs though... they lag me!

When I tried sitting on the hostess, they complained.

Wear a giant prim that says "Pay Me $2500L to Double Your Money!" Then try to find other people working for your boss.

It can be anywhere from minimum wage to maybe even 6x minimum wage depending on the country. Based on the grammatical style of the OP ... he just might be.

Eve Online found a sweat shop farm in Asia were aprox 20 ppl were mining using bots, the boss was raking it in and paying his employees peanuts it had a big enough negative effect on the game and in world econmic dynamics to find them and close them down.
I think its sad. I cant believe ppl come here thinking the same thing...but then I wonder how many 'campers' are working in money farms already?
Maybe I shouldnt of mentioned this but its not secret some ppl are making the amount mentioned in the 1st post and more ...add 10 accts all doing the same on the same PC using those multi acct anti logging apps and it soon adds up to a good full time wage in some countries
Which is why I HATE camping chairs. I wish LL would prohibit them in their TOS but then maybe LL like the fact X amount of ppl are logged into SL shown on the website even if a % of these log ins are AFK.
This trend continues to grown and we soon have a There.com and TSO situation were ppl are all zombies and AFK so other ppl loose interest due to lack of social interaction.
I hate camping chairs/dancing pods...think theyre the worst thing invented and put other ppl like me under pressure to pull the same 'trick' just to put ourselves back into line on the lists as we get shoved further & further down by stores buying their traffic.
