But but.... it's the holiday season. Some people aren't as addicted as we are. Give 'em at least a week. Or, alternately, spam them using Ulrika's key DB. But I never said that.

Oh dear - thanks for posting this Ingrid, yes I did miss it. I've been crazed punching up and typing my husband's 37-page term paper, complete with godawful footnotes and bibliography and everything. Tonight I'm busy having fun, to de-stress from it all. (He turned it in tonight.) coco P.S. How long do we have to create this thing?

I'm offline at home at least until sometime tomorrow, and have been for several days. If they'd told us with a bit more lead time, I'd have already claimed it, because I was waiting for the list to be posted but it wasn't... From: someone Description: Linden Lab has frozen over the lake in Zermatt just in time for a Burning Life-esque (Burning Snow) Winter Expo featuring snow and ice sculptures and other creations of "winter holiday traditions". Join us throughout December for this artistic display of Resident creativity and tradition. FYI: The set-up for this event begins Dec. 7, the event doesn't officially open until Dec. 14! Emphasis mine. The above is from Jeska's announcement on yesterday, December 13th.

I'll happily take an unclaimed mature plot, but I can't do anything until Fri or next Mon with it.

I went by on the 12th to see the prim limit since it wasn't indicated in the announcement post and it was 53. Last night I noticed that the 5x multiplier has been applied. An fyi for those who hadn't noticed the change and were planning a build within the original limits.

I'm at work but wanted to start working out in my head what all I have space to build and put up...

I shot over to check out the limits and planned out a build in my head with 50 or so prims in mind. I doubt that I'll do much revising at this point but I thought others might not have noticed the change.

From: Cocoanut Koala When is this supposed to be done by? The winter festival program announcement ( /3/50/77235/1.html) mentions an opening ceremony tonight at 4pm; while it would surely be nice to have all the builds finished by then, I have not found mention of an official deadline anywhere.

Egads - well I will try. I assume everyone who wanted a space got one; if not, it would be good if I could give it to someone else. Right now, I'm being slammed by rl Christmas. There's an Archie Bunker quote about that - I need to find it! - something about, "Now Christmas has us by the throat." coco P.S. I think I thought of something while I was in the tub. Nothing earth-shattering, but fairly easy to do. I'll try to get to it tonight.

If anyone would like my plot please let me know. There has been a soldier KIA from my state and my responsibilities with patriotguard.org preclude me from partcipating in this, in a manner I would find acceptable.

Y'all I gave it a shot last night and didn't like what I came up with. (I think knowing it was due, like, 10 minutes ago, kind of messed me up.) But I will give it another shot tonight. It may just stay empty, though. coco

Don't worry about it and build whatever is fun for you. I know it's not a big deal, just a little winter festival fun thing, but what's up with the delay in announcing the plot winners? Announcements on the 8th and 9th indicated it'd be up shortly, then nothing until the 12th, with opening day on the 14th. I had signed up for one expecting to do it over the weekend had I won. That would have been more fun than rushing to get something done in time for opening day. I guess the Christmas rush hits everywhere.

I'll try again tonight, Margaret. What you said makes me feel better. I do okay with a deadline for something of four or five days - but the deadline of "right now!" kinda quashes the creative thing, or something. coco

LL delayed the announcement until well after the original date for installing builds. So relatively few builds were installed when the first bonefire event took place. And lots of them are still vacant. If you want to build something, dont let being late stop you, you are in good company.
The build areas are 16m x 16m square, with 256 prims, the area allowed is more of a limitation then the prim limit.

Thank you Margaret, and now, Arch. I got started on something I like better last night. Tonight, I will work on it some more. I figure maybe in a day or two I will have it finished. I figure better late than never, huh? It's been rough, too, because I have had two friends join SL, one each on each of the last two nights, and the time I have spent on SL has been showing them around some, too, you know how that is. So I'm just not going to worry about it. I'm just going to enjoy doing it, and when I get it to a fairly finished state, I will put it up. coco P.S. 16x16, huh? I didn't notice that when I claimed my land. Glad you mentioned it! I think I'm within that.
