who's bright idea was it too ban people without payment status?when you place an ad and its in the classifieds then you should put your prejiduce(spell check not sure)to people without payment staus on there file .UP Scale-Resale Second hand & yard Sale Store,for expamle ,is not letting people without payment status to this store which is in my oppion pretty sad,it's not like there isnt any other place i can spend my money lol but point is clarify it in your ad instead of getting snippy when asked why your not allowed to shop at there store .Have a great day!

It's their store. They're the ones losing/making money by keeping people out. If they feel the reason is good enough to block the ones with no payment info on file, it's their business. Those people will find somewhere else to shop.

Granted, it would be nice of them to post this in their ad, but you waste, what, 5 minutes to find it out by teleporting there? Doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

What Jaycatt and Taco said (dammit, Taco, that's like 4 times today I've agreed with you, cut that shit out). Frankly, I can understand why some folks who sell adult content or run adult clubs might want to screen visitors like this. But regular business people, like a yard sale fergodsakes, are really only shooting themselves in the foot. Nobody else.

Take your $L somewhere else and spend it on people who don't ban unverifieds.

EDIT: The unverified flag has never ever been about griefers. Of the dozens of griefers I've had to deal with since June, not even half were unverified newbies and I would almost guarantee you that those who were, were probably alts. How else can a day-old newb get money for c4 bombs and Star Wars armor?

Totally agree with Cindy about agreeing with Taco but not totally agreeing with Cindy about agreeing with Jaycott I think it is sucky to not include that info in a classified.. even if you dont list it in your property descript.. theres plenty of room for a comment like that in a classified.. how long does it take to add that line ? Much quicker than teleporting and rezzing !

Seems odd to me that since the object of this game (excuse me, Platform lol) is greed you are not going to win by banning customers. With the object of the game being to get as many people as possible to by imaginary objects that are at the mercy of a borked asset system you need all the customers you can get.

For mature content I will agree that the unverfied filtering need not be stated.

But for an otherwise normal yard sale, that's silly.

Makes me so glad my stuff is ok even for kids. Never will need to filter visitors.

No payment info used = possible child. If there is payment info and it is a child, the parent is legally responsible for not watching the child, versus the one who provided av sex to someone who was verified as an adult.

I think that SL should start warning people up front that if they don't provide credit card verification theat there are going to be parts of SL that they won't be able to visit.

A lot of people seem to get caught by surprise by this and while I support people's right to ban based on this, it's not fair that people come into SL and only later get told, "Oh, can't go there, should have used your credit card details when you signed up."

Wow, I tell you, for a company that advocates "be the change," all I see are changes that add more controversy, frustration and divisiveness.

Why must we rely upon payment status, which is really distinguishing by a class designation, to ward off presumed griefers or minors. Isn't this type of generalization or stereotyping at the heart of discrimination. I feel very uncomfortable about relying upon a financial class/status distinction to weed out presumed "undesirables."

If griefing is a problem, then let's have better tools and functions to address that, including more useful IP banning. If the presence of minors on the main grid is the problem, then address the account sign up process rather than giving us functions that permit discrimination according to financial status.

Maybe if you figure a way to keep griefers from entering SL you would have a reason to complain. Till then you will have to deal with it. Personally I think everyone should ban the unregistered as a protest to LL on the griefer issue. Then when folks stop signing up for SL as unregistered, and the number of new accounts starts dropping thus threatening that magic number of accounts LL is seeking...maybe THEN they will do something REAL to address the griefer issue instead of all these small easily over come fixes. (Gasps for breath).

It can on the 3rd, but it depends on the guys.
