I'm sorry, I don't see the relationship between ban lines and using SL as a game. What did I miss? hehehehe, the original post in this thread was a list of topics which were considered okay for General within the past few weeks. They're not all necessarily related, except that they've been deemed okay for General. Regards, -Flip _____________________

Well reading the forums keeps me from going on a multi-state killing spree when work sucks as badly as it does today. Since I work in one state and live in another... and I'm a bridge away from a third.. well the urge to slaughter sometimes gets almost irresistable.
Then, I open the forums and get my daily laugh, snicker, tea-on-keyboard spew, or rant, and the world gets back into perspective. That doesn't mean however that I'm not going home tonight and getting trashed. Ferran... have the rum drinks ready!! _____________________

Ugh, yeah. I've been trying to school my neighbor on why banlines and security scripts are stupid and useless, and also obnoxious and often damaging to avatars flying by, especially on sim borders. General bans == get the feck over yourself. I see I'm not quite done yet, though, as he just put up a 15 second general ban security orb. I think there should be a charge for general bans. Say, L$10/week per 512m area protected by banlines, with the clock starting when the ban's been up for a week. |

Hrm... more like US$10/minute per 1m3 if you want my opinion, which I'm sure you don't ... Let's compromise. L$10/512m the first week, L$20/512m the second week, L$40/512m the third week... |

Hmmm. Let's compromise. L$10/512m the first week, L$20/512m the second week, L$40/512m the third week... This single act could be a big enough sink to bring us back to L$250 / US$1! ![]() _____________________

SL is not a game.
Games have goals. SL is a toy. Toys are things we play with however we want. This is the official word, from me, because I know best. _____________________

Only on your own land. You have no rights anyplace else! Even on your own property there are problems. The person who I had trouble with extended his security script to extend over my property. Problem was that by the time I got a Linden there, he has reset the security script or it does not affect Lindens. A smart move for any griefer! Ranma you choose to see Sl as a place of conflict and that is your right. I choose to focus on what I can create and that is my right. In either case SL is what we make it either with anger or creativity. |

I am one of the lucky SL winners and you can be too! Just enjoy SL, no matter what you do and you too can be a lucky winner!
I enjoy the content creators because they make available everything I just love to buy (Evidence of this is in the inventory!). I sit in amazement at the incredible builders in SL. They provide inspiration and examples of what can be done within SL as well as bring beauty to this world. I can enjoy the land barons because they give us variety in how to use SL land. I enjoy the Lindens because they brought us SL and continue to work hard to make this a wonderful place. I enjoy the positive funny forum posters because they remind me that the potential is there for everyone who posts to be thoughtful, self-moderating, and considerate. I enjoy the wide diversity of residents in SL because sheep get boring after a while. Sorry, David, but it's true! One sheep is just too much like another. Besides, there are more wonderful people in SL than I'll ever have the opportunity to meet which alone can make every visit to SL unique.I gain pleasure from the scripters and animators through all their fun and exciting means of making SL more lifelike while at the same time also more magical. It's a wondrous window to an alternate world that I enjoy thoroughly and it has made me feel like a true winner in SL. Wishing the best for everyone, angel |

Discuss your ideas and observations about SL theres a lot of land owned by the same person all over SL and it's mostly barren. what is the point of one woman having so much land if she's not going to use it? ![]() _____________________

Ranma you choose to see Sl as a place of conflict and that is your right. I choose to focus on what I can create and that is my right. In either case SL is what we make it either with anger or creativity. The land owners next to me are real foxtrot alfas! They close the airspace of their land to me but expect to get overflight rights on my land! They got real pissed when I placed the land controls to bar them. Then I set up my security program to tp them home. My focus point or fun is flying! I cant build and have no scripting skills. In any case neither one of them is fun to me. Thus, If I can not fly the person next to me can not either! I say let him TP! An advantage is the other land owner has his land set to bar too. What do they think I am, the floor mat of SL? That I have to give way to my betters? I think not! |

This is a game some see as and use as a platform. More power to them, always a game to me and many others.
