this doesn't seem like an accident, sensors can't cross sim borders, so it would be weird to have it change sims, and why would it be a repeating to no end thing?

its just another loveley example of how "well" the moderators are doing to make sure this sort of thing doesnt happen its ben what 2 hours now? two hours to solve this?

i think the moderators have clearly failed to offer any real protection or support for the community as a whole. over this problem. we are having to wait for hours for themn to fix a problem that should have never been an issue in the first place and for what?

today i was the victem of several violations of the sl cummenty standerds but did i get help when i asked ? oh no not only did i get completly ignored by one person the other just directed me to the abuse report which , why do i ask that the average time proccesing an abuse report is in DAYS instead of hours?

I had asked one of them to help an issue i had with another player but they just directed me to file an abuse report yet minutes later after the incodent occured i was kicked off second life and was taken action agasint. WHy? because people with clubs or "power" get more preference in help than others?

come on how many of you here have been affected by people on sl who have violated the terms of community standereds and how many times have nothing at all been done about it?

i am not trying to gripe i am trying to state there is a real problem several friends of mine are VERY dissipointed with the help service as far as abuse and problems in SL.

a LOT of people are being hurt by others on second life a lot of people are being attacked and threatned and abused and other junk and it as if the mods turn there eyes.

you know why a lot of this happens? because they call out for help but no help comes so people start to feel they need to take things in there own hands.

anyways i hope this is a bit of wake up call to sl to realise there are serious problems that need to be fixed . first of all

a better abuse report team needs to be assimbled with faster and more realiable resulutions/.

a few reports may be awnsered vs the thousands of unresolved ones.

i am not trying to be bitter here i am just stating a real problem we pay for this product i know i did. and many pay hundreds of dollers a month for second life too

for that amount of money you think that there would be better support with harrasments and problems of that nature.

but no...they are getting tons of money off this think of it the escorts the other sort of money transactions etc. there getting tons of money from land sales etc

thosands and thousands of people are using this they are getting rich off of it and are not providing any real help for people on here who have had real problems with others.

this is a serious problem its not just with the attacks its with the ATTUTUDES of people.

yes i agree the person who did this did a very very very very stupid thing.

i mean as far as i know its illegal to hack programs such as this yes?

but also i think its a bit of wake up call hopefully to sl and lindens to realise they are a bunch of serious issues that slips right under there noses OR which they do not bother to address untill like now it is too late.

what can be done now? the damage is done we are all siting here waiting for hours because of this problem when it should NEVER EVER havebeen allowed to happen in the first place......
i think linden labs owes us an apology to be hones

they should have been able to have the forsight to pretect agaisnt such major problems....and now it takes this long to fix it?

DID YOU KNOW...? the arpanet existed a good twenty years before the "internet" sprang into existance. sl's had five years, at best.

and things ain't as easy anymore, figurin' out what's good to leave open, what to leave out.

not tryin' to pin you... or defend ll... but computer language, by nature (and by design) has an open nature. -restricting it- appropriately for such oocurances... well, that's new.

In all reality, the FBI won't even look at investigating this unless there is an accumulative amount of damage of ATLEAST $2,000.

I've gotten involved in the FBI myself as I had an issue with my own site involving...a LOT of members, and that's what they told me...

The best thing you can do is create a fix and ban the user who did it...

Has anyone heard anything more as to when we might get back in?

and to think, I was gonna go premium today, after only 1 day of playing...

but this scares me, would I be wasting my money, does this happen often?

A few months ago my SO got a warning for shooting someone. He wasn't guilty. There were 4 witnesses who all said he never fired a shot nor did he ever have a weapon out. In fact one of the wtinesses was the one who did the shooting and she even told the Linden that. My SO still got the warning and she got nothing.


We were all being hit by fireworks and this was done intentionally.

SL justice... gotta love it. NOT!!

What do you suggest?

Hey at least they've been providing rolling grid updates and that sort of thing rather than shutting down the grid for 3 or 4 hours every Wednesday for updates.

'forsight' 'should have known' 'aren't doing anything'. I'm sure they put a lot of time and effort into their jobs, and you can be pretty sure that as soon as the grid goes down they don't crack open a six pack and laugh, it is their livelyhood and income as well.

The problem with not understanding the technology behind something is it can appear magic to some people, so 'obviously' everything should be fixed by magic and immediately. Anyone working in a technical field knows the headaches this creates...

Like everything there is a time cost and there's no magic solution to that. I'm frustrated as well, I was working on a project, but if you want to hang people, use common sense and go after the ones causing the problem, not the ones attempting fixing it.

If you're really desperate, go write a standalone version of SL you can play with, I expect it on my desk... now!

I don't know what you all have to complain about. I am new to this sort of life having avoided for some reason for many many years. Anyway I find myself in a lovely club where no clothes are the go. I after much trial and error manage to strip naked only to find that I don't have the necessary male apparatus. So here I am stuck in some club, naked in more than one sense, and I'm locked out of the site....

Would it be so hard to develop some sort of last ditch protocol that would prevent inter sim communication? All off a sudden prims would not be able to cross sim borders. I suppose this would effect avatars as well, but if a sim has allready been hit, it probably needs to be rolled back anywho or at least restarted and cleaned manually.
