WHOA! Prokofy Neva interviewed by Secondcast!

No real reason to speculate about this. The body of Prokofy's handywork is preserved in the SL archives (minus the personal attacks and other violations of community standards which were often removed).

Perhaps those who feel sentimental for Prokofy's brand of fairness and decency could share links to his past posts in this thread. It could be a "Best Of".

You know Aimee I'd love that because I asked Prok why everyone hated him and he told me to peruse the forums. So I did a search but the sheer size of the search results... well shit I don't have that much time in a day. If someone could point me to the salient threads, I would love to read them.

Listening to the podcast now. I can see what you all mean about him talking to damn much and no one else being able to get a word in edgewise, but that's hardly a hating offense. Surely Prok is not the only geek w/o lots of social skills who posts here.

Thats how Prok was. He wrote so much that literally in the forums it felt like you couldnt get a word in edgewise. Along with a unique conspirital spin on the way SL works and verbose arguments of legend.

Simply he wrote so much and agrued so readily he couldnt help but offend people. If you write 2000 words when you disagree with someone you probably end up saying a lot of things you might want to take back.

(not accusing prok of wanting to take stuff back - but a lot of people would)

I know personally Id get to one off Proks thesis' and skip it allmost invaribly - I read fast but I can bore easily too.

well ok I'll admit it, I skip half of Prok's posts when I encounter them. And he is argumentative. but geesh that hardly makes me want to hate him.

Well, you really should take a look at secondcitizen, like Aimee said. I didn't really know much about Prok either, until I started posting there. Prok turns a well wishes/sympathy thread into a flamefest.

It could also be that the Prok war led to the entire rule that if your banned from the forums you are banned from Second Life entirely.

I dont know this person personally, but I think It was a good Episode, there was different point of views and that´s what counts in my oppinion

I've never met Prok, but I'm a little shocked at the casual accusation made in her April 26th article on Second Thoughts that Anshe Chung has bought older accounts and is using them in world. A much more rational explanation would be that the houses were made not by Anshe Alts, but by other residents.

Other than that the article was fairly entertaining. A bit long for a web article, but not too much.

I can't say that I really know this guy at all. All I can say is that I set him on ignore in the forums because he babbled on endlessly. It was not what he said because I could never quite find that out but out how said it. I had no idea what he was trying to say.

Brevity and simplicity are a talent that not all have.

It is not all of us who think that. Some of us are friends with him. However, that has caused us no end of grief at the hands of those who dislike him. And I do mean no end.

No it is not but the fact that he cannot be pleasent about anything is!
And, his Hypocrocy is unbeliveable, and to claim that you want debate but when anybody actually even calmly points out a alternate viewpoint he immediatly usees childish name calling and refuses to actually discuss the issue. i tried for several weeks to actually engage him in honest debate but was only insulted and derided and very rarely were any of my points responded to. That is why it is not as soem here say that others are threatened by a unpopular viewpoint it is becuse he choses to be a extreamly nasty person in his attacks all the while claiming to be the victim and claiming to represent the little guy

It's interesting. I've heard so much about this guy(?) but never once met him(?) ...

But taking my cues solely from what I've read and what people I trust have said, welllll ... I don't think I want to get to know Prok, honestly.

Well this is not something I would encourage.

In this thread you can see Vivianne Draper form an opinion of Prokofy after admittedly skipping most of his posts. George Flan ardently supports Prokofy after admitting he doesn't care to know anything about Prok's past behavior.

It's my opinion that knowing MORE is better than knowing LESS. So I encourage folks to read the archives, check out current posts on secondcitizen, and check out prok's blog. Maybe as a thought experiment, politely disagree with Prokofy on an issue and see how fairly you are treated.

This is much better than following a crowd that hates Prok, or forming an alliance with Prok on the basis of spotty information.
