1.22 RC3 is available

My bad, the servers are checking for 1.20 or earlier main viewers as part of the forced update are not seeing RC3 as being newer or allowed.

Apologies to all when I suggested you might me clicking the wrong button. RC3 will not run at the moment.

This issue appears to have been resolved with the new latest required version released a moment ago

Same issue here. My client worked fine before and I was forced to upgrade to 1.21.6.99587. Now my choices are to reload it over and over again or quit the program entirely. How about a third option - leave the working version alone and let me get in the game. Very frustrating. How do I fix this? Does LL even know this issue is out there?

I pressed Download, and installed the "new" version it sent, but the message keeps coming up. Hmpf... I guess it's not finding "Version ." (null version)

Same for 1.22 RC3.

One hopes this isn't going to take long to be corrected, but it's not up on the Grid Status page...

It's been fixed

I am NOT on Mac. Login page insists I download the latest viewer, after downloading, ready to install, it tells me I already use that version (NOT 1.22, but the previous one). Install or quit. I've done both. Relogging gives the same message. Downloading gives me the same messsage upon installment. I will go back to the status page where it is noted that MAC users may have this problem, and attempt to get the 'direct' link.

Things seem to be getting progressively worse. Lag is worse than ever, walk for five minutes in one spot, worlds take forever to rez, clothing download takes forever, ims and group messages not always recieved, tps not working no matter which way you attempt to arrive somewhere, scripts need resetting, creating is frustrating with all its new glitches. All this began with the last new server that SL switched to as well as changing scripting.

Now I can't even get in at all!! I pay full membership for this??? FIX SL, please!!!

Add me to the list of people stuck in the download loop. This is ridiculous. I was only able to get in by downloading and installing the ReleaseCandidate itself in a separate folder.

Emmarie if you are paying for membership and want a better tested experience stop using the release candidate and use the normal version.

Either way the current patch released just moments ago now resolves the update loop

When i tried to DL newest "must have" version just as it was nearing the end of install i kept getting a cannot install mozilla.. abort skip blah blah.. there was quite a few files that did this (yes i did skip each one in the faintest hope that it would still let me in ...... Anyhooo it didnt.. hence the reason im here.. im just wondering if anyone else had this message or is this something thats gonna cause me a problem?
P.S i hear Teleporting dont work in the real world so incase i dont get in could someone give me tips on using my legs for walking... thankyou

They had the instructions up and saying it was fixed if your refresh which is the version my RSS reader's preview showed but go to the actual post right now it seems like they've removed that and now it just says it will be fixed soon.

And thousands and thousands of idiots who think they're the only ones having the problem keep spamming the JIRA with new issues about it instead of realize that it's sometng that LL seems to be working on.

The JIRA is a broken piece of crap as it is being used. The search is misserable. Because subject lines can be anything, and many people have no idea what to call their issue or how to clearly describe it, finding an actual issue is hopeless. Then you have the JIRA lurkers who do nothing but go around and mess with other peoples posts because in THEIR not so humble opinion, it is a duplicate, not worded correctly, or who knows what.

Maybe if the JIRA gets bad enough, someone will fix it or replace it with a tool that is made to be used by many not so sophisticated users yet still can give good information about what is already in the pipe to be looked at.

FYI - I have been in software dev / IT since punch cards and fortran. The JIRA would be fine in a limited access environment of tech users, but as it has been implimented, I think its useless.

RC3 downloaded and ran for me first time. BUT the head-in-yer-ass bug is back!!!!!!!!

Made me quite nostalgic for a few moments.

I saw that 1.22 RC3 was available, downloaded it and installed it.

Yes, it reset the graphics settings.

But it's working just fine and dandy for me.

I've also updated to nVidia's v180.xxx driver.

All is well for me.

Seriously, glad to hear someone is up and running okay. For me, running XP on a 5800 Athlon and dual 7600 gs cards all versions since 1.21 suffer from the issue mentioned in VWR-8188. Graphics are a bit problematic as well. If I run any NVidia driver later than 163.75, Fog / Underwater is black.

You still can't touch or edit anything attached to the chest .. which makes jewelry and other attachments pretty much useless in the RC. This bug has been around since RC1 .. what does it take to get it FIXED !!!

Have to say these 1.22 RC's are the first RC's that I've found to be worse that than the official viewers. Textures still load very slowly, as they have done since the weekend of the double server upgrade to fix security problems. Worse, the 1.22 RC's all clear all my Preferences so I have to reset everything when I go back to the official viewer. That is really annoying.

It appears to have also jammed your caps lock key too....................
But is working for me fine.
