1.22 RC3 is available

We are releasing the fourth iteration of the Viewer 1.22 Release Candidate (RC3). Please help us to identify any new bugs before it becomes an official download for Second Life.

If you have already been using the Release Candidate (RC2), you will now be required to update to RC3 with the latest bug fixes. But, participating in the Release Candidate viewers is completely optional. You may install this viewer side-by-side with the official 1.21 viewer that you normally use.

In RC3, we have repaired some of crashes you reported. We have also removed the Planning tab on the Group Information > Land & L$ tab. For this and further information, please see a complete list of fixes in the Release Notes:

Be sure to report new issues at jira.secondlife.com and set the "Affects Version/s" to "1.22 Release Candidate." We can only investigate and solve issues that are reported there.

/me wonders why the status page wasn't updated to show the new RC for over an hour after it was a required download.

I'm guessing it's cached in one if not more places so you were getting the cached version. It is just an html page after all that your pulling I think.

i was required to download the new version or not go online. but it doesn't work. just keeps telling me i need to download the new version. a very frustrating round and round to get back to download the new version or not go online? duh what the hell?

Any chance somebody is going to work on resolving VWR-8188 anytime soon? The issue with secondary inventory / texture etc window being delayed makes content creation or working in your inventory a major headache. I know this is not a priority as it has been talked about in JIRA since 1.21. But now that version is mandantory and the bug has been fully implemented, the only hope many of us have to build is the RC coming out with a fix in it.

WorkingOnIt Linden is supposed to be working on it, so lets goes folks...

i am having the same problem, updating it only for it to tell me I still have to update. It also says it is already installed but I tried updating again, still can't get in. Help!

I'm having the same update loop problem as Monaxy and it is with all version of the SL client.

The same here cannot log on i updated 4 times and every time the same old sh?t.

Linden Labs seems intent on ruining Second Life. I have same problem. Major bug.

Getting the same thing, download required to play, but download is same version I already have, run it, install it, load up SL again, and same thing, over and over. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to, you guys have something buggered up there with this. Hope you can get it fixed soon so we can get back into SL. : )

You need to download and use the new Main Viewer but the RC has not required an update yet. Are you sure you are trying to run the RC and the 1.20 version of the client?

Good to know I'm not the only person with this problem. RC and Main viewer are both suffering from this update loop. There's no way to get in.

I was running RC2
GeForce 6600 (probably not important for this issue)
First time login crashed due to -login user password command line option

I, too have downloaded and installed the new viewer repeatedly. I am up to reinstall 6 now and growing more and more frustrated with each attempt tp log in. I am normally a sane calm and patient person, but this is ridiculous!

Same here, and I'm REALLY not happy about it.

Question, why does the release candidate feel it is necessary to change my display settings but is willing to leave the rest of my settings as they were. Just makes for a hassle before I run it.
