I'm unable to log into JIRA, says "The credentials you provided cannot be determined to be authentic." Tried a few different alts also.

I hate to say this, but please roll back to 1.24, this breaks anything that relies on HTTPRequest, such as my combat system as well as CCS/DCS combat systems, also networked vendors, etc.

Thanks for not giving 24 hour notice on the dellayed pilot roll. The lame communication here is about the worst i seen in any business. nothing like being tossed around like trash and paying good money tio be dorked around
Thats why you cant find enough volunteers for your crap rollouts because they continually faIL
Forcing testing on regions that dont want to is lame
You guys think everyone has time to sit here and watch the forums and then you guys decide to jump up and do it with little to no warning .. have a time !

I DO NOT WANT TO BE A PART OF PILOT ROLLS!!!!! GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO OPT OUT IF YOU CAN NOT GIVE CORRECT TIMES FOR ROLLOUTS

Total BS

pJIRA is now working again

The httprequest error is serious enough that I'm going to undo the pilot roll. We will be reverting the pilot regions back to 1.24.

Sigh.

OK, I lied.... the central deploy is taking a long time ("slow and sure wins the race";), so the pilot roll will start rather late. At the moment, I predict a 10:30PM start for the pilot roll.

You call this proper warning and Clear communication to your service clients?

Predictions and delays?

Great so now my region has to suffer another rollback and restart . You see why people have to be here for the restarts? because constant failed updates and to force this on people who wish not to be part of it is serious lame.

Yer damn right i am pissed

Pilot upgrade breaks Tiny Empires HUD!
11-14-2008 02:47
Just to let you know that the new server version has also stopped the Tiny Empires HUD in upgraded sims .... although it still works in 1.24 sims.

I really don't like to add to your woes, Prospero, but I thought you might like to know this, as you may wish to get all the weeping over in one go!

Jeremy -- do you know anything about the details of that HUD? Any idea what it is that's broken?

I'm guessing the same thing -- httprequest -- but if it's something else, obviously we want to know about it. Are you in contact with the developer of that HUD?

Looks exactly like a lost server connection, so is probably the same issue! Ultralite Soleil is the developer.

Obviously do not value free expression from passionate residents who continue to get the raw end of the stick when it comes to constant failed rollouts and unvoluntary testing

I have no problem with free expression, but the purpose of this forum and this thread is for discussion of the rolling restart, not for people to vent their anger.

I'm sorry you're not happy about how these things go. Do we want to make it better, have less impact on the residents? Yes! Do we want to have as much of the pilot roll be volunteer as possible? Yes! Do we want to catch problems like this in beta testing? Yes! Are we working to make things better? Yes!

But, is everything perfect right now? No!

All I can do is say that I'm sorry about that. Venting your spleen in this forum by making attacks and complaining about how things are isn't going to help. We're fully aware of what's going on.

To everybody else : thank you for letting us know about the httprequest and other issues. That is the sort of thing I hope to hear in these forums-- useful and actionable feedback.

I'm not sure if this is related to all that is going on with the restarts, etc. but since yesterday morning, my entire Group List has disappeared, I have been stuck in my home sim unable to teleport anywhere and the other sims around me have disappeared. Also, my entire "About Land" tab is greyed out. This happened once before and was resolved by the next day.

I know the Grid Status said yesterday that teleporting issues were resolved and since they really haven't been, I just wanted to make sure you knew there were still issues. Is it possible the restart will fix these problems? I just wasn't sure if this was all related or just a coincidence but I wanted to make you aware just in case.

Sounds like a networking problem, logging into another sim might fix it, feel free to use my sim "kitten house" that is included in the pilot roll.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "logging in" to another sim. I log in to wherever I was when I logged out which is my Home.

But I did try teleporting to your sim. Unfortunately I got the same message I've gotten for the last 24 hours when I try and teleport anywhere "You have been logged out of Second Life: You have been disconnected from the region you were in.........etc."

Not sure why this keeps happening but thanks for trying to help.

****UPDATE**** Suddenly, Groups are back, Land Tabs are back, TP is working. Not sure if it was related to restarts or what but at least it's working.

Check it out: https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4238

Set the "Show Start Location on Login Screen" option and you'll be able to enter a region name at the login screen.

/me goes to slhistory.org and records the first-ever Linden reference to spleen venting.

Hm.. This gives me a product idea...

Ah, groovy. Wake up to today's business down 50%, and with no update, but a chance to try again next week!

And here I thought that the best part of the day was going to be sitting in my parents' house in Santa Barbara waiting to get evacuated ahead of a wildfire!

:0 yah, have had email comms go out and come back twice now for my vend networks, but think you said those are tied to central server too... nothing much in my status messages seem to have any helpful info; just acted like complete outages. :/ seems to be something touchy going on there, sorry to hear it! good luck though sussing that out... :) (and p.s. to say that all is fine and operational now; hope the same for everyone - just may needta reset things is all. i'm sure glad i built in an auto-restart into my vends ;0)

I think there are still some left over issues. The main one being that I can't invite anyone to my support group. Someone else mentioned that same problem last night, about the same time the central servers were updated. Prospero, if this is not a known issue related to last night, I will open a JIRA entry on it.

HTTPrequest broken
11-14-2008 14:47
Yikes, glad you did the rollback. The HTTP based security system went down with the introduction of server 1.25. Can't perform systemwide boot/ban of griefers.

The HttpRequest issue, this anything to do with the 10-16 spams I get with the media placeholders, whenever I turn on movies? Result is huge delay, freezing, and movies not streaming correctly.. and the deeeeeeellllaaaaayyyyyyyyy is soo bad, almost easier to download the whole movie and watch it off your HD.

Wanna see what happens, press Ctrl+Shift+4 watch the screen fill up with placeholders

See, giving people a place to vent does help. It helps the people who are venting feel better. It's one of those human things. This is why I will continually advise that LL needs to hire some folks with experience in Public Relations and Human Organizational Development. LL needs to understand its customers better. And you certainly need to listen to us, even when all we're doing is venting our frustration.
