In a news story on MSNBC, Mark Kingdon, CEO of Second Life is quotes thus: "Kingdon said the company didn't have statistics on how many of people use the site for adult activities, but added that it's in the minority." That's terrifying, but not at all surprising. _____________________

I answered yes but I'm not really sure that is correct. I don't *use* SL for adult activites, but I have been known to *participate* in adult activites in SL. On occasion. Behind closed doors

define adult activities... Mark was talking to a reporter at MSNBC (or the reporter was quoting some public statement by Mark). Therefore it should be what the general public classes as adult activities, since that is the audience for his statement. There will be an internal-to-second life definition of what can occur on Adult vs Mature land. But that definition is not final yet, and anyone outside SL would not understand those details. The internal definition says if you advertise it, it's adult, but if you do it in private, it's not. To most everyone else, sex is sex. |

Yes. I engage in adult activities in SL, just as in RL.
I am an adult. All of my friends are adults. My kids are adults too. I engage in adult activities 24x7, except when I get to play with my grandkids. |
