Hey Argent, It says "Adult Verification" on the left-hand side menu after you log into your account. Even though I'd used payment (many times) I couldn't visit Zindra, until after I did that... That's the old Aristotle age verification scheme which I won't use. You are allowed on the adult continent if you're age verified (via Aristotle) or account verified (via paypal or credit card). _____________________

Estate owners can place Adult regions next door to Mature or PG. So if you want to have all your stuff in "one" location, get land that straddles the border. That is a really good point. That would work great for those who can afford two sims or one full sim and an openspace. Or who want to rent from someone who does. Nevermind the customers who might fall into that mysterious crack between the sims that sometimes opens up  _____________________

I won't speculate about whether it's conceivable that the account verification stuff might not have screwed up for you. I mean, Linden Labs wouldn't put buggy code into production.

Well I did expect that too but to be honest I am very Meh about Zindra. I have a personal feeling there will still be a lot of adult content on mature land despite everything. Besides there is very little adult content I need/want that I don't already have. Pffft so I can't invite you over to my homestead to challenge you to a game of en garde! |

You did read the fine print, right? But seriously, payment information used or payment information on file is supposed to allow you to enable adult content in the viewer and access adult regions. Sometimes payment information is not accurately listed in the viewer, and you'll need to submit a support ticket for it to be corrected. Both account and age verification are buggy. _____________________

Try Snowglobe, or one of the third party viewers. Snowglobe still needs a lot of work to be as good as 1.23.4. _____________________

Like what? Well, maybe I exaggerate a little, but I ran into some graphics flaws in the Mac version. Transparent menus, transparent clothing... The PC version is incorrectly warning me that my PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Maybe it's mad that I'm running it under Windows 7? _____________________

Snowglobe still needs a lot of work to be as good as 1.23.4. Agreed. On my Mac, the frame rate while running Snowglobe was 1/2 what I got with 1.22 on the exact same graphics settings. (1.23.4 was somewhere between the two). _____________________

I installed Snowglobe v1.02 yesterday, and no crashes so far. And I have had only a couple of crashes on KirstenLee's viewer in 2 months or so. For me crashes are much more annoying than rendering issues.
But as I mentioned before, your success for failure with any given viewer depends on other things than the viewer itself, so all I can suggest is try different ones until you find one that works for you. @Milla - Windows 7 is not supported yet, so its no surprise its giving you problems. |

Until they lock us in, using the 1.23.4 client once and setting your preferences for Adult access will allow an older 1.22 copy of SL installed on the same system to access the Adult sims, even if you installed the two versions in seperate directories. (Have tested this). _____________________

Once the dust settles and everything makes sense to everyone, "Adult" regions will end up being what today's "Mature" regions are. There are plenty of things out there now that could easily pass as PG but it's just easier to call it "Mature" because you never know what might happen or what you want to do. In essence, if you are on a Mature or PG sim now - you have a whole bunch of extra rules to follow. If you are on an "Adult Sim" you just follow the general rules of common decency and you're good to go. Easy. Fun. And everyone will be there, so you might as well go too. lol That's my prediction anyway. Zindra and Adult Estates will not be the underbelly of SL - it will be the place to be ... and what happens next is that a bunch of people who want to experience all the cool stuff on Adult land without having to see a lot of porn will start complaining. So to accommodate them LL will ban sex and violence on Adult land, create a new land category called Ultra-Adult, and exile all the sex/violence content providers to yet another new continent. Any predictions on what the new Ultra-Adult continent will be named? |

My point is.... Anybody got some speculation about what percentage of our customers will actually follow us there? They could, ya know, just shop on Xstreet, and then keep the naughty stuff in their private Mature sim homes (if I'm interpreting things correctly). I watched the stats closely for a while and consistantly had about 40% NPIOF at my place. I'll be happy(ish) if I only lose 20% of my traffic. TY yet again, LL.
