We're not supposed to have threads either 'about' or 'addressed to' specific people here. Why don't you send her an IM?

This seems to be the new trend.

Something you will notice ..

The longer someone has been in SL , the more likely they are to "vanish" to their RL for a week or two, maybe more.

You have to remember for us old timers the novelty of SL has done worn off. We may enjoy SL but most of us don't "live" there like new players seem to.

Lana has a 2004 birth date I believe.

Nope. They have been forever the same... the reason is that it could either make the subject uncomfortable or the reader excluded... I think... but who am I to question the almighty rule makers?

I'm having a really, I dunno, grey day today, (it _is_ raining, maybe that's why). Just very 'triste'. I don't know if you meant this as a joke, but "I like Triscuits and cheese" made me laugh for the first time today. Thank you. Its 3pm here, and for me to not laugh once until now is not normal.

James, have you sent her a notecard? I think it's only been a week or so. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sometimes people just don't feel like being social for a bit.

I agree. When my time comes, and I feel it's getting close, I'll just vanish. I don't feel the need to make any big fanfare. I'll probably let my very closest friends know.

Hopefully he isn't actually a stalker.

But that is ONE possible explanation why shes taking a vacation.

I thought maybe it was just me. I'm glad it's not...you know, misery loves company and all. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better for us both, Isabeau.

I don't think there is much that can be done about readers being uncomfortable or feeling excluded. Someone is bound to be in any of those situations with just about any thread. I don't think it is ever anyones intentions to make anyone feel that way, but is unavoidable in a public forum or anywhere for that matter. IMHO

Again--I don't agree or disagree. I've been (ignorantly so) guilty of it in the past. I'm just stating the facts. See below (call out is my emphasis):

Basic Forum Policies and Etiquette

Private discussions – the forums are a public area for the Second Life community’s use. Individuals who have a dispute with each other have other channels of communication to discuss their differences or communicate – private messaging, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life.

*****Also, threads that are addressed to a single individual or group are inappropriate on the forums, this includes slander or "naming names" in a posts title, starting polls about a particular resident or group, etc.****
