I had a very strange encounter this morning. Someone walked uip to me and a friend of mine as we were talking and started going on about how I looked like a newbie and I should take a demo shape and skin from her so I could be attractive. She wouldn't let up, kept insulting me, basically (my friend was going nuts...he couldn't believe it), said she has a store that covers a whole sim, and has been in SL for a LONG time. I asked for a LM but she didn't give me one and then walked away, saying that I shouldn't have a white complexion (she was a classic, big boobed, puffy hair, round butt, skinny legged pixel babe, by the way). I thanked her for her valuable advice and she poofed. Any idea as to what this skin is? I think Lindal gave it to me when I first started in SL, but I'm not sure. I'd like to maybe work on the face a bit but am not sure....thanks.

oi vey.

I am sorry that someone chose to express to you that you 'needed' to change in such a negative way.

Money is not always required. There are Eloh and Sezmra skins that would make you look fantastic.

If you are looking to spend money however, that can only help more IF you go to the right places.

I think this is an Eloh. Thanks. I have LM's for a lot of good skin stores...Jackie got his inone of them and spent a lot of time shopping for it.

You look fine to me. As long as *you* like your look, that's the important thing. :)

First, do NOT let some pushy sales person get to you. I think you look nice and there is not a damn thing wrong with your shape.

BTW, I love the shirt!

SL is about... drumroll please... YOU!

Therefore YOU should look, be, behave, buy, explore and "do" what YOU want.

Goodness, what a concept. A shame it's seldom respected.

1) you look fine to me and if you are satisfied, that is all that matters

2) and most important -- right click on people like that and select the Mute option.

You look fine. Your hair is not newbie hair (is it? if so, I've been paying too much for hair!), you have bangles, your skin is pretty, so hey ignore her.

It happens to everybody:

I was dancing on a chim at a club, wearing an interesting Avid outfit (it was NOT black or red! amazing!) and a light Symphony skin. The club owner is a great clothing designer and is nice as the day is long, and I complimented her on her look, a wonderful steampunk ensemble. We had a nice back and forth, and then she gave me $L900 and told me to go get a Redgrave skin! I was amused and a little insulted, thanked her and said I had money, but she laughed and wouldn't take it back.

You know, it's funny, I never went back to her club or store. Redgrave skins are great but they don't look well on me, and I felt that if I showed up without one she would notice.

*shrugs* People!

Yes, I have to say I'm very choosy on skins, many just don't look right on my particular facial features. I kept the same skin for the first couple years in SL, and only last year did I finally find a new one I liked. I'll probably stick with that one for a few more years. :p (I should probably update my forum avatar one day as well. Maybe when the new forums come, sometime in 2020.)

I think you look great and I love that hair. I have found myself, however, that not everybody on SL is nice. :-)

Would someone please direct me to a store where I can get a female shape that doesn't have that bizarre newbie chest? TY!

I just went out and made two skins for my alts, but I needed spots for Pussycat, so I got just the right skin to fit her. People seem to like the look a lot too.

For the OP, maybe its just the angle of the shot, but your nose looks squashed. That'd be the only thing I could say based just on the screenshot.

Likewise the shoulders might be a bit broad, or it might be the stance and t-shirt.

Sometimes the AO does a lot to make a finished skin and shape look unpolished, or vice versa.

Nothing against Redgrave at all. There are some fantastic products there (I own a number of them). However, *everyone* uses their skins.

@OP: You look fine.

SJackB,
If you just want an upgrade, we can help with that too, but only if YOU want it, not because you feel pressured into it. Eloh's new line of free skins are out and they look fantastic. Just tell us how you want to look and we can point you to some places to look.

Not such a great picture of me, but I think it's pretty good of you, with different hair:

Remember, that guy was interested in *your* toes, not mine! ;)

SJB you look fine - actually, you look rock-band material. Tell this woman you met to stuff her opinions where the monkey stuffed his nuts.

Some women have to put other women down to feel good. I think that's what happened. The fact that you were with a man made it all the more appetizing to her.

Thats one of the original Eloh Pleiades skin (sometimes known as Sinful). And it looks like the shape that came with the pack as well. The shape was designed for that set of skins. Cant really tell from the photo but I think you've been playing with it a little, and you look fine. Nice hair.

As others have mentioned here, have a look at the newest Eloh Starlight skins. They're very similar to what you have already, a little more detailed and crisper. Can get them at The GNUBIE Store inworld. 3rd floor. Far left corner.

Thx..I redid the chin and lower face and it's better. Yes, shoulders, hips, waist and butt are a little big. Appreciate the input!
