For whatever reason Warder is doing this, he is leaving. You guys have been reading Warder's stuff for awhile. You have seen the tone of his posts- please, be nice.

I agree with what others have said if it is important you contact ppl because they are important to you then why didnt you tell them before you closed your account ( assuming you have)?
If you are in the services well guess what so are many ppl in SL and they still get to come in even when they have been deployed. So Ill take a stab in the dark here your main AV is leaving SL for some reason ( rejection, cheated on ) you are hoping said person/s begs you not to go ( hence the long drawn out goodbye) youwill watch with an alt the places you hang to see if said friends remember you.

@Amara, yup been reading Warder's posts for a long time now, even went to his blog (and I never read blogs) and I still don't have a clue what anything he has ever written actually means except he seems to be making a set of books of some sort.

No offence Warder, I assumed it was something that would eventually become clear and it hasn't.

Have to side with the others and say that whilst no-one can take issue with anyone wanting to say goodbye, wrapping it up in cryptic drama just seems unnecessary to me.

For whatever reason that you're leaving... I wish you well and safe winds. If you account is still active (should be since you're posting here) just send a message to those you need to contact with a "hey I'm leaving SL.. catch yah on the flipside" or something.

I doubt my account would be active. RL isn't really keeping out of my way.

However, this isn't the end forever. Maybe in those 10 years (did NOT say I was leaving US) I will change my name (to something else) and then return... that is if this still exists (which I think it does).

I have just too much other things to do in RL (part-time job, writing book, etc...) and just don't have the hardware to connect to my threadies and residents who know me in SL.

And it makes a lot of sense to me...

You misunderstand.. Your account is active still right now... So wouldn't it be better to just log in and say "bye guys". I think the friends that you claim to care enough to send a departing message would appreciate a goodbye straight from the source.

You say RL isn't really keeping you away yet a paragraph later you say it is because you have much to do... isn't that abit contradictory? If not someone please clear it up for me.

So why can't you just leave your account as is and return when your ready? Unless your account is in delinquent status which would explain the 60 days and having to return under a different name. Or did you do something that you think will get you banned?

We aren't your couriers, your mail carrier, Fedex or UPS.... Say your own goodbyes.. and how do you know that if we did send a message to whomever they would either ignore us or say "haha yeah right..." and mute?

they have messengers that let you talk to people in sl and you don't have to have great hardware for that..just so you know

60 days is standard Linden policy. I did NOT break ToS or anything.

So you are purposely deleting your account or its being deleted involuntarily?

If its the first, just change (or stay) at basic account and you'll be fine. I have this one account that was basic and I forgot the password to. The account still shows in search to this date and its been probably a year since the account was logged in (if I could remember the password I'd delete it).

As long as you know the email address and magic phrase/word you can even get the password reset
