Didn't your parents tell you not to take candy from strangers?

Why is this lesson so soon forgotten for many on the interwebz?

We just had our 18th aniversary in June. I still hold her hand when we walk into the stores. We kiss each other hello and goodbye and for no good reason. I tell her how beautiful she is. I tell her I love her at least every day. We are not normal, but then I gues you're not supposed to like your spouse for some reason. Cest la vie.

Well . . . well, just wait til you hit 19!

For FD: A woman attempted to kidnap her ex SL boyfriend by posing as a mail delieverer and finding his new address. She broke into his house accompanied by her dog, who she later tied up with duct tape to keep him quiet. The ex SL boyfriend came home, found a laser pointed at him, and ran to get the police. Pretty weird stuff, but obsession does weird things to people, you know?

What I didn't get is the part of the story where it says "A virtual relationship began between the victim, whose character was a Lion, and Jerrigan, whose online persona was said to be a virtual woman."

Said to be a virtual woman? What do they mean by that? The lion doesn't raise any eyebrows but a woman playing a virtual woman, now that's weird! I just don't get journalese sometimes.

You wouldn't be here if your mother hadn't taken candy from your father.

A bit of duct tape never hurt anybody. You're just being sensitive.

It only hurts when you take it off.

This SL to RL story would've been funnier if the police had found a cube made of plywood, a book from John Norman's Gor series, a furry suit and two rubber balls, one pink and one blue, on the bed.

This is one case I'm glad the code is broken and I'm too lazy to cut and paste. Just by the responses here I know I don't need to see that story.

Broken code heh?

That's quite funny and sad at the same time.

In every social circle there lurks the insane and the downright unhinged. We just can't escape them. But they can provide some comedic value if no one is actually harmed.

Hopefully they don't give Miss Fruit Loop internet access in the years to come.

And yet so many people get upset by those who put little messages in their profile that says something like: SL is SL and RL is RL and never the train shall meet.

THIS is one of those reasons why - among many many other reasons.

I am one of these ^,

but not one of these ^.

I don't find SL a suitable site for finding RL relationships. If I was looking for a relationship online I certainly would be paying for a quality dating site with some kind of selection process and criminal check process. I like my SL relationships as they are, in SL with little RL info and certainly not serious or effect RL in anyway. Just a place to have some fun outside the RL box.

However I have no issues with RL relationships though... Maybe different for non-socialites who have problems in RL society. Maybe that is why they are disappointed to learn their SL mate is not what they are in RL as they are in SL. I don't care who the person is behind the computer in SL as that is going to be the extent of our relationship, behind the computer. If my playmate is a girl in SL and guy in RL it is irrelevant to me as I only choose to know them as their SL character. When I started in 2005 SL was still small and the feeling I got was creating a Second Life the way you wanted it, not the way everyone else wanted your SL to be, and not worry about being judged... Those days are quickly disappearing. To bad many people lack imagination.

Also what fun would SL be if there was no drama? It would get boring pretty fast...
