So I came "home" tonight after helping a friend with a few issues..

-There's a black dragster in my living room
-There's a "Brain in a Jar" sitting atop a lamp shade, also in my living room
-There's a Universal Original Stargate DHD whatever in my media room
-There's a "Steeled Earth" sword.. actually two of them.. in my hallway.

In my creation room, there's a "Resellable 62 Animated Sex Bed"
-There is also a bone
---An AP Stargate
---A portapotty
---A Buffalo
---A teleporter beam that leads to god knows where

In my office, there's a basic tent
- and a trash can that's currently on fire.

And wedged into the roof in front of my house is an object entitled:
-"Inuki - Slutty Kitty (8 Pages)"

So I ask you, esteemed residents, how do you react to this sort of thing? I found it thoroughly amusing, and also wish that I could take copies of a few of the items before I nuke them.

Your reaction?

I usually find stuff like that pretty funny. There was one time that someone somehow found their way onto our island and rezzed huge green and blue penises all over the island. Rather than just return all objects to owner from the About Land window, I had a fun time finding them all (behind the waterfall, under a car) and then returning them. At least someone was creative about hiding them. :)

allways kept object creation disabled, object entry enabled and autoreturn at 1 minute so u don`t get stuff stuck on the land border

I have create objects NO and Entry YES. Auto return is a negative, on the main parcel. I used to be annoyed by this, but for some reason, I was laughing out loud tonight. I really did enjoy the creativity. A portapotty in Second Life. Who'da thunk. And no, Lexii, I didn't think to take pics. I'm retarded like that. :(

I always go, how DARE you put something on my land, whoever you are? Then I say, oh maybe he just lost it. Then I go, NO HE LEFT IT ON MY LAND!!!! Off with his head! Then I sent the item back.

It once took me 45 minutes to clear all the cubes a newbie had left on Carlisle. I was so pissed. Not that I know how to return a person's objects with one click, I just smile and delight in watching my prim count go up.

BTW, Digging you siggie there, Zaphod. :)

Just like Easter in Hell.

Man - that must have been a hell of a party you missed, Zaphod! That's the only thing I would have regretted. Pretty funny

My initial reaction. "Oh, some one what here less than a minute ago!" then no worry since it will only be there for at most 59 seconds anyway. Not that I allow rezzing anyway.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I would ponder and wonder WTF they we up to, chuckle a bit, send a pleasant IM to the owner of the objects and return the items.

I get a lot of those kind of things and it does nothing but amuse me...

I set my land to No Build. Most of the stuff I have found that got there somehow, looked like my neighbors just trying to build stuff... mostly harmless.

Well, my land is set to group build. Then I found out someone in the group was using it for their own purposes  Don't know if they got to the Great Dane before I took the pic, then banned them both. I've since deleted my bed.

The visitor log sure has gotten smaller! :D

Might make your livfe much easier if you set all your items to your group and then set return for things not set to group to say 10 minutes :) It works

now that I am in control of the whole sim, and trying to create a city on it, I have it build/script/entry etc enabled, so yeah find lots of stuff

lol would be cool if it worked that way

amazing the stuff ppl leave behind.

I have found pets, cars, clothes boxes, houses, furniture, posing stands, jets, choppers, bikes, trucks, DJ booths, drum sets, guitars, shoes, boots, hair, misc prim stuff, etc. Some stuff I used to look at the permissions and it would be no copy so I know that that is the only copy they had

always return stuff

strange though, since it is not surrounded by other sims, there is no object entry from other sims, ppl are leaving these items laying around....

very strange

Well more seriously, there was a rumor that sometimes when items disappeared during derez they actually went to 0,0,0 in whatever sim you happened to be in at the time. Perhaps something like that is still happening? Tho it sounds like in both your cases the stuff is just scattered about more randomly ...

I remember when my hubby bought me my very first 1/4 sim mainland island a little over a year ago, maybe 2 I'm not sure.

The cost of this dang land was sooooo expensive, (or so I thought) and it was my sl wedding present from him.

I own a hair business and built my merry way up in the air in my snazzy skybox. When you make hair every prim counts and one day I noticed that I could not make any hair, I was out of prims! This was odd because I had just started building there and had virtually used very few prims.

Not knowing how the hell that happened I dropped my happy ass 700m down and hit the ground with a thud, stood up looked around, only to learn that some newbie had set up.. a dock..... 6 regular boats, a yacht, a rusty metal shack of a house, lawn chairs, a wet bar, prim grass, some bumper boat looking things, an animated dance floor and a few sorted party lights. I was just in awe, I had only been up in the air about an hour working on my hair, and somehow this guy had set up his own little paradise on my island!

I immediately messaged the squatter and asked him how the heck he thought he could be tossing all his crap on my land. He responded to me in a very rude way and basically told me thanks for the free use of your island, wench!

Well, I was new to owning land at that point so I returned each item he had out(or so I thought) one by one, and went on my merry way back up to the skybox. About 15 minutes later, I'm out of prims again! This is strange to me because I had banned him from my land. I didnt want to turn build off at that time because a friend of mine was using my island for prim space to build her hair as well, and I didnt really feel like setting it to group and all that happy stuff.

I had a large house that my friend scorpio had built and given to me as a wedding present set up on the island. We had just started setting it up so there wasnt much in there at that point. I fell back down to solid ground, looked around. No boats, no other assorted junk..... The only place the prims could be, besides up in the air were in my house so I figured I'd check the house first. Sure enough, I had plenty of goodies in store for me when I opened the door. I had a HUGE prim vagina greet me at the door.... whoa..... 13 copies of a prim "karma Sutra" book scattered about. Many MANY prim penises, including one that the vagina had swallowed up into its super-massive black hole..... A vast assortment of freebie sex furniture (dang).....an outhouse in the middle of my living room, complete with poo texture on the walls and TP.....(ew).....some barnyard animals including a sheep with a penis...15 or so freebie beds, some stacked on top of eachother to make them look like bunk beds... a short bus in my kitchen.....several badly textured globs of what appeared to be prim poo chunks all of the place.. over the fireplace, a picture of two newbs having prim sex in a strange looking hot tub....candles (to set the mood I'm sure)......assorted chairs and couches..more grass and a few other things. Here the guy was so insistant on squatting on my island he went and grabbed his alt and came right back to play again.

After that I, again, msged him with a few choice words and banned his rear. After that, I decided that I would set the land to a group. As funny as it was to see all this stuff scattered about, I didn't want to make this an everyday occurance as I had things to do. Add that to the fact that after I had enough hair made I planned to set up a nice shop for my items on the island and I didn't want my customers to be greeted by huge zombie vaginas.

I co-own the private island of Hairspray now and auto-return is always on to anyone who isnt a member of the group, sorry squatters, and tho it's not as interesting, I'm ok with that.

I just had to comment because it's hilarious to know that people are still doing this. I just cant fathom why people do that kind of stuff. I have a really dry sense of humor, but when I was new, I never even considered going onto someones private land and scattering my inventory junk all over the place for kicks!

I do get a little annoyed at untextured prims being dumped and mutter a bit and send them back. A little while ago I got to my shop and found it raining, somehow the auto return had been switched off. I did find that amusing and looked pretty good, even considered getting some rain myself, though decided the lag and extra rezzing for customers might not be good.

Vehicles I normally message the owner to tell them where it is and then return the next day if hasn't been collected.
