As the client changes - what is your draw distance?

I am at 96, which is where I've been for a long time.
I wish I could adjust the distance at which I get avatar imposters, though. They seem to come on when I get more than like 2m away! If the avatar is not in my face, it turns imposter. 10m away it becomes a pixelated unmoving blob. When I'm about 2m away and it turns imposter, animations no longer are in synch, which is how I first realized this was going on.
About 18 months ago my draw distance was usually at least 128, but I also only got 00.50 frames/sec, LOL. Now I get around 10 usually, which seems great!
Can't turn on any shaders, though; that will bring it all crashing down.

64. as low as I can without fiddling too much and its ok. I dont mind the fog because I can't see the sparkling water anywya - its why i gave up on windlight, that and the skirt issues. I do occasionally turn it up. I'll stand on the balcony at the hangout and turn it up so I can see across to Corra or something. I do the same at home, but it just means I can see next door's home lol. Sometimes I wish there was more detail to the skies, being ablt to see the ground far away, or even just clouds below you would be very cool.

I keep mine under 100 usually unless I really want to see something in "full color". I notice it really makes a difference in lag, especially at this place I go to a lot...

I hate to say this Claire = Windlight ... and higher draw distance ...

My old computer was set at 128m, and I really couldn't run windlight. Was getting a handful of frames per second in most places.
I just got a new machine and turned up the draw distance to 256m with WL... whoa, what a difference seeing things around me makes!
It is indeed too bad that the view boundaries aren't fog. Seeing water and half rezzed structures is distracting.

/me looks at Love.
You realise what you've done don't you. What you are now entirely blameable for?
/me starts looking at new PC costs. YAY!!! The flimsiest of excuses and I can pretend it's all Love's fault!
I remember when I upgraded to this PC from my old one. It was like seeing SL for the first time (when concurrency got an OMG there's 6K online we're doomed!!). It's time to experience that again methinks.

I'll tell you this: running at 1920x1200 with the graphics settings maxed out and 256m and getting between 30 and 50 fps on my home sim is like seeing SL for the first time.

I might just beef it up but tbh I want a new monitor etc, I've got Dual Core and want Quad ... and I could have got a lot more poke for the graphics card.
