Hmmm...well oddly enough when I logged in on the latest candidate release yesterday, which I had been using for about a week, I had a popup that said "you must download the latest viewer" and there was a download button and I clicked it and away it went.

I wasn't able to stay on long enough to make sure things were all good though. RL stole me away.

Yes...you have to update to the latest Release Candidate, to *use the RC*. But you do NOT have to use the RC, you can use the mainstream 1.19.1.4 viewer, or even the older 1.18.5.3 viewer.

In the last two RC releases (5 and 6) I have a problem with the camera in editing.

Stand inside a large linkset, like a house, or a room. Select a prim. The camera bounces to a position outside the linkset.

Is this a bug, or is it because I set my camera to autoposition in edit mode?

To be honest, I have never created a JIRA entry before though I have voted and commented on a few.

I'm not even sure how to describe the problem this is showing. Is it a prim alignment issue, is it a flexi issue? About all I can really say is that my hair is rendered differently and it looks awful in the 1.20 viewer.

I have a few other hair pieces that were created by the same person using a similar layout that exhibit this same problem to varying degrees.

I'd be happy to put this on JIRA, just not exactly sure what to say. Suggestions?

Huh, you know, that looks similar to my issue with the flexible prim skirts, like it's not rendering the flexible prim attributes? Go into the edit mode and uncheck/check the flexible option and see if that prim goes back to original. This makes me want to log Trill in on it, because she's got flexible hair like that.

Edit: Yep! Trill's Cake hair looks exactly like that too, as well as the skirts being 'flat.'

Thank you Raudf! Toggling the flexi prims does seem to reset them although still not as seamless as in the 1.19 viewer.

And, as soon as I detach the hair and put it back on again, I'm right back where I started from.

Is there a JIRA for this that we can all vote for?

Looks like there are several: Two which I'm voting on and will probably go ahead and link together. I didn't think about the hair alignment and since I can't see the insertion point (mind outta the gutter folks) of the prim into my skirts, I can't check that as easily.

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6948

and

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6862

Another thing I observed is that the phantom attribute is turned off along with the failure. Does this mean the prim is 'physical'? Don't know.

I'd recommend attaching your images to the first one!

OMG... All this talk about flexi just reminded me. My flexi skirts are working, but some of them have really silly looking warped prims. I didn't make the RC connection until just now! Okies... It's screenshot and Jira day when I get home. (>_<;)

I have all autopositions and flycam off and all joystick options disabled. I do notice the snap-cam glitch when building or looking at really big or really small parts. I've been working on multi-prim eye attachments lately, so nanoprims have been the norm for me all week... I've been going nutz trying to keep up with that buggy alt-zoom behavior. (>_<;)

Voted for both and added a comment to the first with links to my pictures. (couldn't figure out how to add them)

Looks like the intend to fix it, since Workingonit Linden has it. That's encouraging, at least.

Voted.

ok, pose may not be exactly the same but everything else is the same and forced midday in both...

1.19.1.4:

1.20.6:

sorry, but I'm not a photographer and I don't have a studio setup. Just do what I can with what I've got.

When I saw this picture, I immediately thought of my alt because she has very similar hair (sirena). I just logged her in and to my horror, I have this exact same issue. Ok, where's that Jira, I wanna vote on it! This will never evah do.

The issue is http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6948

I *think* they are working on it...I have no idea how JIRA works :P

(A customer told me about this issue. I couldnt find VWR-6948 when I searched and ended up creating a new issue. Never thought I would even log into the JIRA thingie :P)

I note that Advanced Rendering Axes is not working in the ill fated, short lived 1.20.7 (8788).

1.20.7 is definitely a slide back. I haven't gone back to 6 yet, but only out of pure laziness... And it's nice to have the skirt layer working again. (^_^)

Also, I noticed in 7 that ALL my snapshots are silent. I've been taking a few Snapzilla shots and asked around if anyone noticed the sound... Even in a crowd of a dozen or so avatars... Nobody got the sound or animation. OH! Exploitable! \(^_^)/

They're obviously going in the wrong direction for features and stability and they realize it... I'm gonna wait and see what RC8 turns out to be like before I believe it's anywhere near final. (=_=)y

Yep, I'm waiting for RC8 too. They're hopefully going to have the flex prim issue fixed, so I can concentrate on the other things. I'm not crazy about the light blue/blue UI. I get the feeling this is supposed to be the precursor to being able to 'skin' the UI ourselves. That'd be nice, since I really want either a really dark green with white letters or red/black.

My "bright" isn't working in Second Life 1.20.8 (88152). I added one piece to a build and the color is totally different than in the old pieces added in the old client.

Bright doesn't affect any prims I use it on.

Strange.
