I am off work (except for logging in to check the cash flow every morning) for the next two weeks. I am torn between using the time to get more immersed in sl, and taking a break from sl completely - or perhaps there is some compromise that might reinvigorate both my real and virtual lives.

So a) what do you think I should do and b) what do *you* do when you are on leave.

The Kids will appreciate having Dad at home to drive them around at a moments notice and to be able to tap Dad up for that extra spending money :)

I'd say go away for a few days. To fully recharge.
I know you have to check some things at work every day but I suppose a weekend to some place that might interest you might be possible?

Hope you'll enjoy your time off.

When's the last time you took the kids to the zoo?

Stay home and pop some Jiffy Pop popcorn.

Play checkers with the family. (Teams of two.)

Come back and regale us with the stories.

Allergic to animals, on a diet and checkers causes arguments because I always win.

Good idea, but I'd have to rip the axe out of my son's hands.

Take your family camping in the wilderness with NO INTERNET ACCESS for a week. That is what we are about to do. I have no idea if I will survive! :)

By the way, in all seriousness, thank you to those who *are* voting as well as proffering advice and suggestions.

Pep (Your views *will* be taken into consideration.)

ETA Except the bit about being nice to my wife that Rio added while I was posting this. :p

Do they have wilderness in the British Isles? They're so small! I wouldn't have thought there's any place more than a few minutes from a pub.

Mornings: Piss 'em all off with a family cleaning project, like late spring cleaning.
Afternoons: Short family outings or bonding via Guitar Hero or WII games.
Evenings: Rent a movie or go solo and tarnish your rep in SL.
:p

@ Argent - LOL, and does it even count as wilderness? I mean.. the nastiest, most ravenous creature he could run into out in the sticks is.. what?.. a lonely sheep? :D

I think you should do whatever you can to relax. I wanted to vote twice, once for spending more time inworld :D , and again for chilling out. Stay-at-home vacations can be great...or maddening, as chores loom and the like. I'm hoping that you'll be able to take at least one day for yourself so you can recharge your own batteries, reading, getting some fresh air, taking in a museum exhibit...a pint at the local... :)

Stay at home vacations usually afford the opprtunity for a few things. You can spend more time inworld, but I don't know how much you are already inworld, you may be maxxed out already. Family time is always good, but again, despite your postingsn here I don't really know your family dynamics. So I'll take the pie option, since there was none mentioning finding a gun, sticking the barrell in your mouth and....... :p

If it were a traveling vacation, for me it would be a simple choice. Not being a laptop owner, there is no SL, or internet for that matter when I travel. It's nice being able to drop the electronic leash occasionally.

Funny you should say that: I plan to refuse to let them out of their bedrooms every morning until they are fit for human habitation! Outings will probably be demanded but I shall attempt to limit them to the Starbucks in the Borders up the road. They can watch crap movies with their mother when she gets home.

I live in Milton Keynes now, not Wales!

Brighton is always fun, don't know why it is, but always is for me, spend a day out there? A museum or art gallery visit in London, the Tate Modern can be a full day out and it's popular with people of all ages, girls in short skirts for you to google at there :)
