Calling asshole an asshole =/= picking on people

Calling people who defend said asshole various names =/= trolling

I don't get what your issue is with it, tbh.

Okay again. You are calling people who are defending him all kinds of colorful names. "Picking" on them simply because they happen to like Pep. Then you proceed to call Pep a troll by that very definition. That is my issue. So if Pep is a troll, what does that make you?

A troll, if ya like. That would make you one too though, right? By that logic. Although, I think it's two entirely different things: to pick on someone for no reason, and to pick on someone who is picking on someone. But hey, that's just me I guess.

However, I don't see where I was trolling in this thread, or what it has to do with anything anyway.

LL. Their bungling and mismanagement is enough to keep from investing too much of one's self in SL.

Ditto.

At one point, I thought "Hey! If I was working & making some decent $$$, I can finally buy a whole sim of my own!!"

Now that I am working & making decent $$$, I dont feel like blowing the $$$$ on something like that.

I haven't insulted anyone. Well,besides Pep...:p

Picking on Pep is not my issue. Have at it. My issue is with you is insulting others for simply liking Pep.

And I have no idea how this got over to this thread, but you know what thread I am talking about.

Remind me, what was my lapdog post in reply to?

Some random bringing crap that nobody cares about from an unrelated thread into this one.

Maybe I shouldn't have risen to the bait, but I did. I'm that bored.

I know. If I eat pepperoni pizza too close to bedtime, I have nightmares about being kidnapped and raped by Care Bears, and not in a good way, either.

But has time spent on SL meant you've missed out on other worthwhile RL things? Or, in truth, would you have just been watching TV, reading a novel or doing something else on the computer?

I migrated over from IRC with the same group of people (initially) so I was spending the same amount of time on SL as I had been for about the past 12 years on IRC. SL provided the new layer and intrigue of 3D.

During the first year of being on SL I became extremely ill and on Dr's orders had to go on disability. SL was a lifesaver during that time. I had moved on from the IRC group by then and my partner was truly my best friend and confidante. He let me vent and cry and be angry and all the myriad emotions I was experiencing at that time, as well as the fun we had discovering the wonders of SL together and enjoying building a home.

A page has turned...a new (SL) season has arrived. Due to his RL, my SL partner and I are no longer together. I am not bored with SL (goodness knows I have more than enough to keep me busy with all my interests and activities) but I am sad. Dancing was our favorite evening activity when I was partnered. I have gone to Sweetheart's on the assumption that people are there to meet and dance. WRONG! There are a ton of people there....standing...and most of the people on the dance floor appear to already be coupled. (And I'm from the generation where ladies don't ask men to dance.)

Ditto Bogart's and Phats. I'm not a big fan of solo dancing but, based on my recent thread of good dance HUDs, I will do that rather than stand around. (I did have a delightful and debonair gentleman from Germany I think ask me to dance in a smaller club two afternoons ago. I have deduced that European men are more secure in asking women to dance than American men, so I may do my dancing in the afternoons now and build in the evenings. ;) )

Let's see, what was the question again? Oh...how did I come back to SL after the euphoria passed? It has never passed and due to my illness I am glad to have this outlet for socializing, creativity, learning, teaching, etc.

But am I a bit sad now and in a new phase of SL...yes.

If you do adjust your timing and see me before I see you please feel free to suggest a dance . . . ;)

I live for the day when folks get used to the notion of creating their own drama in virtual worlds as a matter of course (and I don't mean drama as in bullsh!t, which is common enough). It seems to be a rare talent but I think that's largely because it is still very new and many still struggle to get beyond the Barbie and Ken concept.

Ephraim, you are missing the blindingly obvious.

Pep (This place is much better than soap opera or even "reality" tv; and you get to direct interactively as well. )

Ishina, yet again you are missing the point. I criticise those who don't take sufficient care with their posts so that they insult and waste the time of intelligent readers. There are ESLers who try hard, for whom I have nothing but admiration, and there are EFLers who are over-emotional, irrational, lazy and just plain ignorant, who deserve contempt.

Pep (Guess how I classify *you*. :p )

PS Clarissa, Rio, Brenda even; I am delighted if some of my posts amuse you, but not surprised that some do not; I am even more pleased that you are sufficiently well balanced and self-assured to be able to say so in public. I am sorry it may have brought you unjustified criticism by association with me. :( )

If you continue to insist on missing the point, despite all the evidence to the contrary, then perhaps you actually have a reading deficiency?

Pep (Or you are well balanced, and have some kind of chip on both shoulders? :D )

PS I'm not responding in this thread any more. Rio is right.
