From: Doomsday Sorbet Thanks. I was looking through the search for the same info. My structures aren't that big yet, but I was wondering if I needed a rezzer to combine phantom elements into a build? Yes, that is exactly the reason for a packaging solution. They allow you to move ALL the pieces of a build at once. You can just coalesce the object together on a normal "take", but if you are selling it is easier for your customers to manipulate the final build.

The basic users of a rezzer like this have been described but you can also use it for more. Most everone has seen holodecks and Paradise Blankets. You can use the rezzers the same way with either your builds or with any mod/copy builds you own. I used to own a little 512 lot and yet I had a garden, my mad scientist laboratory, several different homes and even a dungeon at one point Of course not all at the same time due to prim limits, it gives you the ability to rez the environment you are in the mood for at the moment.

I'm struck by what seems like a "generational" thing between Foo and Faux here: I joined a bit later than some and picked up LSL when Lex was very much more active on the Forum and jira than was Crystalshard. So I use his.
I don't mean this an an endorsement; I never compared features or anything, so YMMV, etc. Just speculation about how and when folks form opinions that influence purchases.

Crystalshard's Rez Foo was first on the market and became the standard for a lot of people building at that time. I remember going and checking it out, but being put off by the pricing and decided to continue coalescing my stuff. I just wasn't selling enough at the time to justify that large of an expense. When Lex came out with Rez Faux, it was priced in a range that was more than acceptable (although he could have charged double and it would have still been a bargain.) The really important part is how easy the product is for the CUSTOMER to use.....

From: Qie Niangao I'm struck by what seems like a "generational" thing between Foo and Faux here... If by "generational" you mean, 'which came first', then maybe so. What is learned first is learned best, and the Rez-Foo was out way before the Rez-Faux so for some people it is what they have stuck with and for others it is about what works best or who gives customer support and who does not.

Sorry to Necro this post but did not see a reason to make another since it was on the same subject and still in date on information..
Anyways i had a question about the Rez-Foo which i can't seem to find in the document that comes with it.. See my build is close to a 1/4 sim in size and i am wondering if i am going to have to use more than one rezzer ..
i'm not sure what the limits are on it as far as distance from where i set the box to take in the build..
i guess what i am asking is what is the limit in diameter i will be able to pack??

By the way, there is a free upgrade available for Rez-Foo, from version 2.0 to version 3.0. Contact the maker for details, as they are still setting up the in-store gadget for doing the updates. Not sure if it is applicable to versions earlier than 2.0.

Kind of hard with so many ambiguous names. That's why I finally broke down and put it in my sig. Maybe we need sex check boxes in our profiles in the forum: Male ___ Female ___ Other ___ Not Picky. I'll take what I can get ___

You know, there's a whole bunch of JIRA entries asking for this kind of info in-game. Maybe... touch_start() { if(llDetectedGender(0) == MALE) ... } Or... maybe not. Think of all the bad_touch() jokes.

I had to find out the hard way.
I was walking out of her photo gallery with a friend when she passed by. I told the friend "Hey--there's the guy who did the pictures."
Lex corrected me. Nicely in an IM. I apologized and she admitted it was understandable.
She's still one of my scripting heroines.
