I think Nina's point is that they don't stop someone camming round your house - they just stop you from knowing about it. To you, though, that may be the same thing as maintaining your privacy.

If it keeps them from using my poseballs or walking into my bedroom, then it is maintaining my privacy.

people do it all the time and honestly I dont have a huge problem with it as long as its first hand info and not rumours of rumours etc. They do however expect LL do behave differently but in reality WE ALL do it and can't seperate very well. I have no one on my ban lists for forum stuff but I know many who do and in some cases those same people want LL to think differently. At least you are aware of what your doing and why.

I never ban people Until they show they cannot behave themselves on my property. I had a friend Long ago, My first year in SL, he was never banned from my home, though he was banned from many, many Places. He WAS someting of a griefer, though never a destructive one (No Sim Crashing devices, or Cages, or Guns), he just goofed on people. He started by teasing me, I politely asked him to Give me a Moment as i was talking to someone. Later he teased me a Little more, and I Teased back. I never got Offended by his Goofing about, I was polite to him, and after a time he was polite to me as well. he demonstrared he Could behave Himself when asked Nicely, so i never banned him.

In the OP's case,, I wouldn't have Banned the Spammer, because he did nothing to disrupt my Property, Nor was he likely to. He Spammed OFF WORLD, Not in SL. As for the Young lady who expressed Dismay at Americans supposed Discourtesy, Well, everyone is entitled to their Opinion, and i would have respectfully disagreed with it, and NOT validated her Opinion by Banning her without even meeting her. (For the record, I'm NOT American, but i did Live in Louisiana for ten years.)

The OP wasn't Breaking any rules by banning these people, he was Well within his rights to do so IF he chose, But Having the right to do something doesn't automaticly Make it Right. Not necessarily both, it says or, not and. Therefore privacy is still there when you can be seen but not be in the presence of someone.
