Have any Brits been able to verify?

Very strange.

I was able to verify during the Concierge Beta.

Now, with the exact same ID, it refused my attempt to verify an alt.

Did the form look the same???

The form is the same but you can't omit info. Maybe some of those who submitted the extra info verified when it wasn't even being checked.

Maybe they just thought hey, someone is prepared to get verified, so the info is probably right-let's just verify them? Scary thought tho. ;)

LL and the third party age identity verification company must be rubbing their hands with glee with all of these posts. Why on earth would people submit to this?

Agreed.

/me Sighs at the general intelligence of the UK population. Perhaps having more surveillance cameras than the rest of the world combined means we think this is normal.

I verified by providing less information than LL have on me, I didn't see that as a big deal.

Failed verification here too. Tried my passport about 6 times. A friend of mine also tried with his NI number a few times - nothing. Neither of us have moved or changed name etc....

There's also a fundamental problem with the AV form - there's not enough space to enter a full british postcode until AFTER the form is submitted. Which is just stupid, isn't it?

Anyway, I filled in the "failed" survey and it directed me to the support page for manual verification. Which says "send us a scan of your passport....". Which does seem to conflict with the Linden blog statement:

From: someone
no data is being taken, retained or stored. Rather, an automated check is done at the point of contact, and all data is then purged. Thus, there is no collecting, using, storing, or transferring of your personal information beyond the one-time match. Period.

Given the mess that the whole age verification system is in at the moment, I'd sooner trust HM Customs and Revenue than LL with my data!

Your national insurance number? They're asking for that? You're not supposed to disclose that to people unless they need it and they should only need it for tax purposes. They shouldn't be asking you for that.

"Keep your number safe and do not disclose it to anyone who does not need it. Remember, its purpose is only to record National Insurance contributions and credits you have paid or are entitled to, which will help decide how much benefit you will receive."

I'm getting child benefit for my two little ones so I'm screwed already.... I'm sure LL can look after my details a damn site better than our government!

Edit: PS to answer the question I've verified twice successfully with two different concierge level accounts using passport number during the pilot phase.
