A place near one of my parcels started one of those 'best avatar'-type voting competitions.
They had big money on offer at the end of every month. That changed to smaller weekly prizes after the first month. It was obvious that the thing was being gamed. People manufacture alts to vote for them. They get their friends to do the same. One avatar gets so far in the lead that others don't join in or just give up. It's the way of SL. If there is money to be made, some people will always find a way of cheating in order to get it, even if that spoils the fun for everybody else. And of course, as in traffic -gaming, scamming, whatever, the cheaters would say that they are "doing nothing wrong". They are "not contravening the TOS" - just using the tools that LL have provided. _____________________
