Someone HAS made a list of ad cutters. I don't recall where it is though. Maybe it was in SC or SLU.

Well there are probes and such in-world that add a ton of known land splitters and ad farmers to your ban list. I know that the Arbor Project uses an awesome one but I'm not sure if they made it or keep it up to date or what.

I never even wanted to be a scumbag before but now I find myself wondering if I could compete in any of the categories ..

There actually was a list of ad farmers and land cutters going on the Second Citizen forums for a while (now offline). Might want to start a new list on one of the other 3rd party forums.

Actually they have a banlist of adfarmers that land owners can use to ban known ad farmers from their lands. For me it is a way of protesting their activities. I use the ban lists myself and what I mean them to understand is that if they wish to profit by coercion then they are not allowed on any land I own. I'm sure it doesn't really ruin their day in anyway (I mean the odss of them wandering onto my land are very slim) but it makes me feel like at least I did something.

I did have a neighbor who quit ad farming because he found the shunning something he didn't like and it got the message across to him. He quit long before I put the banlist in place but it does mean that some adfarmers and others of that ilk will be affected by social censure and that's a good thing.

The arbor project isnt just to buy out ad farms, it is intended as a project to help beautify SL, and provide a (Brief usually) escape from the adfarms, industrial areas, and whatnot on mainland.

Though yes technically it is providing some revenue to those farmers it is removing the blemish that the farm creates, and adding in something beautiful (And sometimes meaningful.)

Do let me know how that works. I find that they usually put up something really disgusting in response but hey, I'm willing to believe.

And, forum folks, as I remember it when the Forum Cartel membership started to include some scumbags, you decided to control membership. (if I remember correctly..I'm sure someone will let me know if I have that wrong.) And during the great Forum Cartel land search, avoiding eye sores was on the list of must-haves.

Lets be fair here, you forum folk are not scumbags and you know it. But there really are scumbags that cause a lot of damage to many people with their activities. We do need something that allows people to have some info about who they are dealing with. Playing house in SL is one of the major activities and it creates a market for your goods. Having adfarmers extort money from such folks cause their signs can be disgusting is just plain greedy and wrong. And will drive people away who can't afford an island and no longer feel happy in their little cottage.
