When I got on SL yesterday morning after reading LLs new policy on adfarms, I noticed that one of the ugliest adfarms across from my property had vanished overnight. So I got to wondering...how about the rest of you? Have any packed up and vacated? Any moving on in your neck of the woods?
I thought this could be a great thread to see how things develop over the next few weeks as LL beautifies the mainland. The lack of adfarm yesterday sure made me happy.

Don't have any ad lots in my home sim (just lucky I guess). I would like to know if the former ad lots are now for sale and, if so, for how much?

No, on 2 of the sims I have land, nothing has changed, what are the guidelines to get rid of them? The other post got off topic.

The only guideline that has been "officially" posted is that they MUST remove their content by 1st October.
Still awaiting further clarification of policy as to what should be done if we see them still there on or after 1st October.

There are also exceptions, one can apply for an official adfarm liscence from LL. So I doubt they will vanish 100%.

But, they will have to work within certain rules stipulated by the lindens. Probably stipulations about size, encrouchment through rotating, banlines, temprezzers, particles etc. Not following those rules would result in loss of licence, and thus, loss of addfarm

I'm waiting for a clarification too. I have a rotating cube on my property displaying four of my textures I sell and a smaller non rotating cube above it that gives out notecards. With LL's off again and on again heavy handedness my sign might be considered an Ad Farm. If not, then I'm relatively sure some "do gooder" will and AR me.
This whole mess could turn out to be a great big can of worms........slippery slope, whatever.

My friend lives in a sim with a massive ad farm, slightly obscene imagary, over 20000 sqm of the sim was owned by one group and they had lots of little 16sqm plots intruding on all other plots in the sim. Today we watched as the land was cleared, put up for sale. The land was instantly bought by a bot and repriced about 50% above market value, but at least the ads were gone....for about an hour, at which point another group bought all the land, and erected a new ad farm. The ads are far more respectable so at least that is something but it's still an ad farm so not good news.
I think some "farmers" will be selling up. based on todays experience they will just get overtaken by other "farmers" who are looking to register with LL.

The ugly spinning ads all around my studio parcel are still there. It seems highly unlikely that most of such will be removed before they are AR'd after 10/1.

The usual non-advertising extortionists, not surprisingly, are still all around the sims where I have land. And despite multiple ARs, the "*Prime Prime Advert Spot! On The Corner Of The Lot!" (that is actually in the middle of the lot) still has banlines; perhaps Maxx is a better knitter than Robo. As for the network advertisers, what astonishes me is that not only have they not left, they haven't even tried to clean up their acts. The exact same particle-spewing double green bulbed tower is still spewing particles and still taunting the Lindens with "Church of Landtology" graphics; the TAG team still has absurdly tall full-bright towers; and--lucky me--I get two copies of the ultra-glowing purple casino crystals, one on each side of my parcel. No changes at all. October 1 just can't come soon enough for me.

No they haven't left the land nearby. I must admit that some of my other neighbors have such terrible looking homes that the ad farm kind of blends in.

So I doubt they will vanish 100%. not really expetions ad will be allowed to licenced ad agents and only in certain areas, near high traffic venues one would presume, not willy-nilly all over what ever sim. also i might add they said a very limited number my out right guess is they have already contacted those whom they will give licences to so if your not invited don't hold your breath waiting to get a licence

I think you are crediting LL with a bit too much competence. I doubt anyone has had an application for a license approved yet.

I've seen a couple disappear near me that I suspect were small-time operations that aren't going to even try for a license. The big networks and extortionists haven't budged and probably won't until they get AR'd after the licenses go into effect.

From: Peggy Paperdoll So, that's next to get rid of? Someone near my land has built a huge, ugly tower. I hate it. I've had to move my skybox to avoid seeing it - the thing is 500m tall. But he didn't do it to annoy me. His land isn't for sale. He's never done anything else to bother me. I haven't complained about it to him, and I won't file an AR. That's because I can tell the difference between abuse and bad taste. Most people can.

Robo disappeared from my sim overnight. But I still have four or five adfarmers in the middle of my parcel.
I read in an article that someone used to have a giant toilet in their parcel. I would have loved to have seen that!

From: Mujer Magic Robo disappeared from my sim overnight. You made me check again. No such luck here: still the same 16, described as "512 parcel"--and named for the neighboring sim--priced at L$3000. Did those parcels get abandoned to the Governor, or could it be that some fool actually bought them? [ETA: Oh, this is *funny*. On another sim where I have holdings, the ROBOmatic is using a group, with the charter "Licensed advertisers leading supplier!"... it's as if there just aren't enough places to tell lies for this guy.
