From: Raudf Fox That's the easy part... it's any thing that doesn't agree with the right wing, of course!
I just flat don't like her, doesn't matter which wing she's on. That's how I feel about her. A big ole 'meh'. She's silly and ineffective and I have no respect for her. Wouldn't matter the party lines, just a bubblehead. (And if I see one more WINK I will run screaming from the room) I like her glasses, though, lol.

The Liberals in America are an extremely unhappy group of people. Seems counter-intuitive seeing that they get the majority of their news from comedy shows like Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central. Character assassinations and ridicule are emblematic of their discussions.

It's a lot like Saturday Night Live, but not nearly as funny. Considering how unfunny SNL has been lately, that's REALLY saying something.

Hosts that PROMOTE their beliefs in the American entrepreneurial spirit, God, small government, the U. S. Constitution etc etc. Compare these shows and what they are PROMOTING to MSNBC and Comedy Central and their theme of ridicule and denigration.

Yeah, nothing denigrating about such cheap and easy insults as "feminazi," eh? In truth, both serious and intelligent commentary, and cheap ridicule, are available plentifully from both sides. For instance, much as I enjoy Michael Moore, I would not treat his documentaries as very serious commentary. No one side of the debate has a monopoly upon "seriousness," and certainly not upon "The Truth." To suggest otherwise is itself denigration and ridicule.

MCain was looking for a gimmick and he got one in Sarah Palin..He wasn't going to win no matter what Gimmick he used..people were just done with the republican party..
He basically was looking for someone unknown that would pull some votes..I'm sure he thought she would pul the womens vote and those men voters that would be thinking she was hot enough to blur their judgment enough to push the MCain button..
MCain must have thought she was as good at bullshitting with the big dog bullshitters..but she wasn't..she must have thought she could run with them too but found out she was out of her league..
she got offered a dream position and was like a newb at a freebie store..she sucked it all up and started to believe the bullshit..she found out real fast how the tides can turn on someone ..then it was all she could do to keep them out of her closet..sorry once you open that up it's not you making the image anymore..it's who's got the information and if they are on your side or not..so she was pretty well over when the looks and gimmick wore off lol
it doesn't mean she is any more of a bullshitter than the rest...they are just better at spewing it to those that believe them.. they are all politicians ..born to lie..the majority are bred from lawyers and judges that have been washing hands and kissing butts their whole way up..
i don't believe any of them or place any of them on some monument of a saint..they are about the lowest form of life their is no matter what party they represent..they would sell you out in a heart beat if it meant beating a stoplight to get them to a party on time..

The "gimmick" was one of the reasons I explicitly did NOT vote for McCain. It was so obviously a "me too" move on his part. Having a black candidate running was a big deal, so he hopped the bandwagen and picked up a female running mate.
If she had been chosen based on her political merits, I would have probably voted McCain. However, it's pretty obvious he did it just so he could be controversial too.

From: Melita Magic t...Palin isn't a civilian, either. She was a governor and she plans to run for President. Actually, a civilian is any non-military person and so I do think she qualifies for that at least. From: Scylla Rhiadra I can assure you that a McCain-Palin win would have had an enormous impact upon my country. I may not have a vote in US politics, but I certainly have a stake. Peggy -- Scylla is most definitely correct in this. All of our fairly well known politicians can have an impact on any number of foreign affairs. Just like I am very much concerned with what goes on in other countries political arena, they should likewise concern themselves with ours.

However, it's pretty obvious he did it just so he could be controversial too. oh there is no doubt..the last 3 elections we have had the worst choice of candidates..Gore and Bush..Bush and Kerry.and now Obama and MCain lol.. The Gimicks are starting to be something to look forward to just for the entertainment factor.. it's sure not because there is any talent to choose from hehehehe people loved hearing change is coming ..change is coming..the part that was left out was if it was gonna be good or bad change..LOL that or if it meant we would be getting some change back from MCdonalds or if we had to give our change to them or maybe we will all be changed into mutants.. things will be changing but it's not because someone is gonna make them change..it's because these things were already going to happen and they knew there wasn't a damn thing they could do about them.. i'm gonna make a prediction..change is coming again.. may not be today or tomorrow..but it's a comin lol what was MCains other Gimmick? Oh ya ..Oboma is a good guy and not a terrorist..LOL so vote for me Mcain..the guy that plants old lady's in the audience so he can say good stuff about his opponent to show he is not a bad guy..LOL they are as transparent as a clean glass of water hehehehe

From: LittleMe Jewell Yeah, any more we are just choosing from tweedle dee and tweele dum Agreed and I think Ceka nailed it- and I don't much favor Ms. Palin either but not for any real point at and say this is the reason - I wish I had something more concrete but I didn't like either her nor McCain- but I did know going in that Obama was one of the worse possible things that could happen to us as a country and i will be so glad when his term is over- and hopefully we could just rout absolutely all of them and start from scratch -open the windows and let the air in- bunch of antiquated rusty smelly carcasses in the White House now anyway. .... Not sure if advocating Change will be real popular after this wave of supposed Change gets tossed on its collective ass...

Character assassinations and ridicule are emblematic of their discussions. you'd be unhappy too if comedy shows were more accurate and complete sources of news than the official sources. but thank you for the delicious irony of engaging in the same character assassination and and ridicule that you accuse your opponents of. you've reinforced my belief that it's a political staple far older than liberals and conservatives. then again, with all the stupid things politicians say and do, it's hard NOT to point and laugh.

From: LittleMe Jewell Actually, a civilian is any non-military person and so I do think she qualifies for that at least. I know, but I was going with Peggy Paperdoll's definition - or at least, as close as I could get to one. Obviously she isn't in the Military (even if she is Commander in Chief in her daydreams.) Actually I'm not quite sure why people aren't allowed to have an opinion on the ex VP Nom, no matter what the case. (She is at least a pseudo-celeb and people of all kinds talk about those.) Am I looking for logic where there isn't any? Merry Christmas everyone.
