I don't tend to read profiles much at all, on occasion I will but it is not the norm. Like Brenda I prefer to learn about a person as I go along rather than reading their resume which are mostly not representative of the person anyway.
For my own profile there are times when I put stuff in there for my own amusement and times when I have a mostly blank one. I never get comments about it nor do I care really. My picks are really only there to act like my own quick tp shortcuts. _____________________

I read lots of profiles - if people have taken the trouble to write them, presumably they want them to be read. Apart from the people who have hostile profiles telling 'profile stalkers' to get lost, that is! What's that all about, then?
I put quite a lot on my profile just because it's there, a blank canvas to be covered with woffle. _____________________

I'm also very curious about how people would judge my profile, and have been revising it over and over again trying to convey the right message for how I wish to get treated. I -think- its getting better, but I'm still not sure. So I'm also open to some comments about it. ![]() "where its OK with the locals" should be "where it's OK with the locals". Your profile tells me that you are only interested more in physical displays of affection, but not so much conversation or social interaction. Whether I'd actually pet the kitty would depend on how the kitty is behaving, not the profile. But you do make clear what you want. . _____________________

You are obviously expert in it, looking at your recent posts.Pep (I am not the one so desperate for attention that I request people touch my tail. )PS I don't do drama. Is that the same Fonteyn that couldn't remember whether she had had sex with Nureyev, got busted at a pot party in Haight-Ashbury and performed for the Chilean junta and in South Africa during apartheid? Marianne...I've learned recently not to critique profiles.
So, I'm not going to look at yours. But....you've made in awesome presentation with your words and thoughts and actions in forum....so you're AOK in my book, regardless of how your profile reads....and there's something to be said for that....very hard to pull off here. And in this case..... Pep (I wouldn't IM you inworld to initiate a conversation because of it, which must be some sort of criterion.) Whatever it says....I would label it Highly Effective.....and if this is the result of whatever wording you used.....may I borrow it word for word? |

Pep (Not really a role model?) PS Why did you retract your post? Yes, that Fonteyn. Did anyone say that sex with Nureyev was memorable? If they asked her when she was busted, she could have forgotten the question too! How did you catch it? I retract posts all the time. Usually it's when my post doesn't go with the flow of the thread. Or when I say something mean and have a change of heart. Everybody was all spock and such. What I said didn't fit. The woman had her points (hee hee). You make her sound like a half-monster. Look how upset you've made her! ![]() . _____________________

Pep (I am not the one so desperate for attention that I request people touch my tail. )PS I don't do drama. Others, however, tend to react to my observations with it, but why should I prevent them? ![]() That's pretty much drama right there. You instigate hostility with snarky remarks. Face it, you're a drama-queen, with posts designed to create hostility. And you've succeeded - I didn't think I'd manage to find someone here I actually disliked until now. There's correcting people's mistakes, which others have done with me in some of my newbie errors here, and there's doing it with hostility - which is you. Didn't see any drama in my posts. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel my interaction with you is my first drama here - I haven't felt called into hostility with anyone else in this place. If you find it drama for me to post in a thread about reading profiles, how I use my reading of profiles, without ever mentioning anyone or calling anyone out for anything, then I'd call that your misread of me. And yeah, I want people to touch my tail , I want to create friendly social interactions in SL - to meet people and have fun together. I guess if that smacks of being desperate, poor pathetic me. But so far, its been a great way to meet friendly people in SL, and help each other break past the shyness barrier. In any interaction, someone has to break the ice. My 'Kitty parts' go a long way towards making that easy to do.Oh and this post? This is me being a drama queen right back... I hate it when I sink to this level, but here I am. /sigh... |

Pep, just stop. To misquote Magnus Magnusson: "They've started so I'll finish". Or was it Coldplay: "Fix You"? Pep (I just commented on someone commenting in flawed English on the flawed English of others. It's not irony, although most would call it so.) _____________________
