Its a game. If you worry about it and want to get your soul back, then you are playing the game.

You know, I understand Bloodlines RPing isn't for everyone. And I respect that. I just wish people wouldn't make threads with this kind of title....

Ha Ha. I remember the first time I read this, maybe a year ago. I did wonder if I would keep remembering. But I never gave it another thought ---- until now. :p

Maybe Tanya will change the title when she's feeling a bit calmer...

I agree here, important words shouldn't have their meaning and impact watered down with casual or over use.

I think the 1000$L bribe sucks... even if it is harmless it could rip of a few new avs.

My alt was biten once when she was new; the only remedy is to drink the "worm wood potion" ... it used to be L$250/bottle and you have to drink the whole bottle to bring your soul back from the limbo state that your soul is in now. I have it checked; and my alt's name is no longer in the Bloodlines' database. Her friend said it's a gimmick and did not get it ~ thus she does not have a soul now, sposedly :D
Since you did not give consent to the bite ... yeah, maybe AR would help ... or you could always turn around and go terrorize the vamp who owns your soul, until he/she buy you the potion to redeem it :D ... JK!!

According to Bloodlines FAQ you need to wear a garlic necklace to be removed from the database. Just wear it once, that should do.
One is available at secondlife://Help%20People%20Island/50/39/24

You dont just *wear* it. You put it on and click on it, a dialog box comes up and you opt out of any further contact. Then you remove the necklace and forget about it. It's worked wonders for me. I was getting mighty tired of typing "Dr Phoenixa Sol DDS would like permission to yank out your fangs, click YES to accept" and I was just about to create that into a gesture when someone posted here in the forums about the garlic necklace.

Of course, it also has the option should you change your mind in the future, to wear it and click it to opt back in.

I am a bloodlines player "slbloodlines.com" and there is no way to get bitten unless you accept. They have made a few modifications to it where your SL account must be 14 days or more in order to be actually bitten or you buy the hud (L$599) and accept. There is many huds out there giving slbloodlines a bad names such as "slthehunger" you are not required to give permission to be bittin and you only know if you where bitten if you buy the hud (L$700). We have been trying to get the creator of the hunger to make something to prevent this in the sim or for users to buy for free however he/she is not cooperative.
In all of the hubbub in this thread, I think everyone skimmed right over this rather pertinent note!

To sum it up, Bloodlines does not work like the OP described. If she did indeed get bitten by sitting on a sofa, then it was not Bloodlines - rather, it was one of the look-alikes.

This is important because, if this is the case, neither the garlic nor the Wormwood Potion will accomplish anything, as the OP won't be in the BL database to begin with.

Actually, it sounds like someone might have found a bug in Bloodlines. You "accept" the bite by granting PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION. If you sit on a prim, that permission is automatically granted. I can see a couple of approaches to using this to fake out the HUD, depending on whether it checks llGetAnimationList() on the victim or checks for PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION and crosschecks llGetPermissionsKey().
