Others might look down on you for freebie shopping but don't even focus on them and just have fun. Those that do, are probably the stupid ones that will shop at places like this:

"This is a premiere vendor targeting the high end of SL’s fashion market. Her *redacted* collection will range in price from a low of L$3500 to a staggering L$25,000 for her one-of-a-kind designs."

It's by appointment only - requiring a 500L deposit - LMAO.

http://shoppingcartdisco.com/?p=866

PS Oh and in the Amity freebie thread, didn't someone say they went to a store without a door .. perhaps this was it .. lulz

You know...First, I'm insulted because my little blog didn't receive an invite *sniff*.
Secondly, lmao....50L just to see the catalog?

I think I'll stick with my regular designers and my lowly little budget of 1k per outfit.

What a crock....or is that crook?

I was shopping at a freebie shop, suddenly a dude came to me and called me a cheap bi*ch. I asked why, he said because I wear free stuffs. Do you guys think that I am a cheap person that I wear free stuffs?

Nothing wrong with freebies.

This guy was just a male troll who will never get laid, and jealous about people who seem to have fun without paying their asses off.

Just ignore them. reacting to them gives them orgasms. Don't feed them the joy they want, and they leave pretty soon.

A hundred quid just for some pixel threads?! Not flippin' likely!

Sigh. That's the trouble with being a Rich Bitch. There's always someone more willing than you to jump to the next level of Conspicuous Consumption.

Aww...

But I want to go to the exclusive showing, nibble on dainty petit-fours and sip champagne while beautiful models (you, Honey?) show off outrageously expensive and outrageously styled creations. ;)

/me taps her foot impatiently while looking at the mailbox for her invitation.

Entirely depends on the kind of stuff you wear, imo, not its price.

Agreed; I'm about to have my 2 year rez day in a couple weeks; I still have some stuff I got as a noob, clothing items that I still wear occasionally because I really, really liked them and still do. One pair of shoes (bling auto on, lol) soon as I rez I type 'bling off' because now, I just can't stand to be blinging but back then thought it was cool. Other than that, I still use many things that I got as free in my SL youth. Just depends.

Ignore idiots like Special Little Jerk. Right-click on them and select 'Mute'. They turn a lovely shade of bland grey when you do that, and you can get on with your shopping in peace.

Quick question on this, when you mute someone do they get a notice saying you muted them? (oh, I do hope so?)

they do not get a notice, they have no way of knowing if you muted, or are simply ignoring them with sheer will

as for the OP being called cheap... what's wrong with being cheap?

the bitch part was uncalled for, but being cheap is a way of life for many people now in RL, no big deal

I would have looked at him and said, yeah so I am cheap, so what...

My last remark to someone I mute is always along the lines of, "I'm tired of your annoying crap. I'm Muting you." BAM!

Petty of me, I know, but it gives me such a sweet feeling of revenge.

LOL
well yeah in a case such as this, they know

when I mute people I do not say a word

however sometimes I will fake it and say I muted them, and then watch them rant on and on at me, which is rather stupid, considering as far as they knew, I muted them. And of course the people standing around are like... dude... she muted you, why are you going on as though she can hear you?

(and the nice thing about mute in world, not a great chance of someone "quoting" muted person, although it has happened, where the muted person wanted someone else to tell me something on their behalf, and the other person did, and I told them if they do that again, they will be muted too, stopped that real quick LOL)

More like a punk kid masquerading as an adult asshat.

or just an asshat.

To OP, is perfectly ok to wear free stuff. The designer said you could when they gave it to you and the shop keeper. So dont worry about it.

Then I am one of the cheapest bitches in SL - and damn proud of it.

Ask the others what they think of my style -- probably 75% of which are freebies.

What matters is not what a person wears ... but how well they carry it off.

Afraid not me - my modeling career is on hold until InStyle deems me worthy to grace the runway.

*sigh*

I havent had time to read all the replies. But my answer to the original question is... They are probably someone who sells stuff, and free stuff makes them feel threatened, this is a greed thing. BUT greed goes both ways, the kind of people who think EVERYTHING should be free are also greedy.

If you happen to be wearing all freebies, but arent of the oppinion that everything should be free, you're ok in my book. Not that my oppinion counts (nor should whoever called you a free b*tch).

This.

There are good freebies, and then there are, umm... not-so-good freebies. I still have jeans and shirts I wear that were originally found as freebies.
