Is it against the TOS to give someone lindens and in exchange for them to order you a pizza in real world... so you can eat? Not sure about the TOS, but I am starving, as day 3 rolls by of the lack of food in my life, I am desperate. But I do not want to break and rules and shall not if it does. YARGH, pizza places should open up in SL, so I can order pizza for myself, Wish they took paypal... I hate being in New Zealand.-Matty Were you able to get your pizza? Sorry to hear your having such a hard time IRL. _____________________

If the pizza is made by a furry make sure they are wearing a full body hairnet.

ROTFLMAO ![]() No use if you have cats. European cats shed between 17.5 and 25% of FAT (fur added tax) and I bet Ponzu Pizza comes pyramid shaped. I have rat onna stick, anyone want a bite? Hobbitses? Nah, too hairy on a pizza as well. _____________________

This thread has gone so off topic now and I am still really curious... was the OP serious?
Are they starving? Do they need a pizza? Money? Struggling? I dunno... but if the person was trying to seriously reach out to someone and get some help, and everyone is making a joke of... that's a bit crude... but... if this was all a joke then I can stop reading this thread... _____________________

When I was first buying land it literally made me broke I was eating whatever I had or living on top ramen and oatmeal.
Now I got it under control, my friends pay for majoirty of my tier, they even paid for my anual membership this year. I don't expect them to they did it because they cared. I guess if I really really need a pizza maybe they send me gift certicate to get one in exchange for nothing or some new fd spark texture designs. I don't see many rl business wanting to be paid in lindens though. I wouldn't. _____________________

Well if you put SL over eating Irl it makes it very hard to sympathize, but if someone is struggling beyond their control, my heart really goes out to them and it saddens me that everyone made a joke of this... =/ _____________________

When people are really starving, they don't ask strangers on the internet for pizza. They don't usually have powerful computers and broadband connections either. People who are glued to the computer and neglect to do their shopping this week, but have a mad case of the munchies... those are the ones that ask strangers on the internet for pizza. Perhaps it really was serious and they really are starving... if so, I suggest the OP deal with this situation in real life. This would obviously be a problem too serious to deal with by posting on an internet forum. |

I don't understand why he'd need to give someone Lindens in exchange for a pizza, though. I mean, if I could help someone in that situation, I'd just send him the friggin' pizza. _____________________

I didn't see anything jokingly about the original post, or a reason to joke, to me it read as a serious question. In some cases L$ is much easier to make than rl money... But I do agree with other poster that suggested they can't be that bad off if they have a broadband connection and a computer. *shrugs* _____________________

If starving, step away from the computer and forage.
First thing to do is trade the computer to someone, anyone, for dried protein rich food that can keep for weeks. Then go from there. Pizza is too heavy and will just make you want to sleep, rather than support your new lifestyle of foraging and obtaining food by whatever means possible. I'd also suggest a secret cache in a tree, up and away from predators. If food is a problem, I'd imagine shelter and food storage will be a serious issue on the short term horizon. Please avoid eating the flightless kakapo parrot and various other endangered species - and good luck! _____________________

Perhaps it really was serious and they really are starving... if so, I suggest the OP deal with this situation in real life. This would obviously be a problem too serious to deal with by posting on an internet forum. This is what I was thinking also. I sat here and thought....if I was starving in RL, I'd sell the bloody computer and eat. I like SL and all, but I wouldn't' consider it worth my life. (In fact, it might just help my health as I'm seriously thinking I need to stop smoking in RL to afford my tier....lol...however, I'm not sacrificing food!) I'm not familiar with the economic situatipn in New Zealand, but I can only imagine that if you have enough resources available for a PC up to the specs of SL, a broadband connection and the electricity to run the whole shebang, you should have enough money to buy food. If not, then somewhere along the way you lost your common sense and sense of priorities. I don't mean that to sound harsh, but really, it only makes sense. |

Speaking of foraging... in the News of the Weird from that other thread... if you scroll down you'll see that someone is equipping illiterate Kalahari bushmen with GPS handheld animal locators... they can just tap a picture of an animal on the screen to see where dinner is hiding. How frickin scary is that?
I would suggest to the OP that broadband, costing US$40 and up (at least in my area) per month might be better suited to buying food. And a pizza is hardly the ideal nutritional source. A $15 pizza might feed one person for 8 days (one slice/day) but that same $15 can buy lots of beans and rice and milk and veggies. Actual meat might not fit into that budget, but jeez, a pizza if you're starving??? ![]() _____________________
