I think the moderation task has been divided between Alby Yellowknife and Christopher Nomad.

From: Deunan Pink If we could all act like the adults that we should be, and use generally accepted rules of ettiquette and manners, then there should be no need for a moderator in our discussions. the point I was trying to make early in the thread (too subtle, I know) I definitely believe the forums were better off with moderation, especially RA as evidenced by the ratio of problem/solution posts to noise/troll/rant posts... used to be you'd have a few of the latter... now you're lucky to see a few of the former, before they fly off the page... But LL doesn't see fit to have moderators, inhouse or otherwise, and I won't speculate why. that leaves us to self moderation, which would be great if we all agreed on what that meant, but even some of the best among us find the official line hard to tow. so what's our lowest common denominator? it's not just about what rules some decide to bend, but how often they bend them, and how far.

Look on the bright side - the forums are still a huge improvement over the average commentary on the blog, so we must be doing something right.

Since moderation stopped the bad stuff just keeps going in the original thread instead of just jumping to the next thread every time a lock happens.

From: Tegg Bode Since moderation stopped the bad stuff just keeps going in the original thread instead of just jumping to the next thread every time a lock happens. So true. Instead of having a thread about cheating in SL (or whatever) come up every 2nd week, the same one sticks around... As for basic questions, often they fly off the page because they've been answered. Once you've explained to someone how to get the box off their head, well the OP says thank you, and that's it. Of course I've used very simple examples here, but you get the idea.

Yep so once you take them off your subscribed list because they have gone rotten, you never see them again or the new ones started instead. Most peoples questions do get answered reasonably well by someone

B.
As of 8:00 PM CST, two thirds of the first twenty five posts (not counting stickies) are people asking for help with problems.

I don't get this... because every post I have seen asking for genuine help always gets answered.. Is there a fun part to this forum that I am muted from?

From: Void Singer that leaves us to self moderation, which would be great if we all agreed on what that meant, but even some of the best among us find the official line hard to tow. Self moderation means don't be an asshat. The official line is rarely crossed by 98% of the posters here. 99% lately since two of the least helpful and most inflamatory posters have not been around much in the past few weeks.
