A lot of TV studios for news, chat shows etc., look like they belong in SL.

I have gained a few pounds recently, and they have all settled around my stomach and hips.
I was looking at myself in the mirror and thought, 'I'm going to have to figure out which slider I have to adjust to fix this!" Then for a few too many seconds later thought, "No, I don't think that's going to work." |

When reading Trout's post about his new desk and how hard it was to move, wanting to suggest he uses edit mode. I pointed and pointed and pointed, but that damn thing wouldn't budge. I got it to rotate, and now it's stuck upside down and I can't reset it or take it back into inventory. I think the script is FUBAR. _____________________

There are situations in RL where I wish I could just relog and later use "Sorry I crashed" as an excuse. Maggie _____________________

Within moments of our RL home burning down, my hubby turned to me and said "Let's just rez a new one!" (We've each wished we could numerous times since then too, as building STILL hasn't begun!)
Since I had to buy all new clothes, I found that I was picking things out based on what HONEY would like...and in most cases, they work. My screen name in various web locations has been Honey in one form or another since 1995. Since SL, my family has finally given up calling me by my real name - everyone now calls me Honey. ![]() _____________________

Another one from me... Seeing a wall, etc and thinking, "That would be a great texture!" Geekiest example of above? Photosourcing the bricks of a building at 945 Battery Street, in SF. That's a good one Mari. I just got back from a vacation in SF. I took a lot of pics there with the intent of using them as textures. _____________________

The one I do the most is attempting to alt+zoom and rotate my camera view on web pages and photoshop.
Awhile back I was looking at a newpaper print magazine, staring at a blurry ad waiting for it to rez. Thats when I knew I was spending a lot of time in SL. |

Likewise, when getting up in the morning, I've find myself comparing those bleary moments to lag and slow rezzing textures. I need a RL system upgrade! _____________________

I'll throw in another one....I have caught myself replacing normal RL terms with terms used in SL. I was shopping for a new couch set in RL recently, the salesman at the furniture store showed me his first recommendation and I replied with "I don't like the texture"...meaning I didn't care for the fabric, but that term didn't even come to mind. His reply was "You haven't touched it yet, it has a nice texture to it". I didn't even attempt to explain it to him.
Also I purchased an outdoor fort like play set for my daughter last week, a friend was helping me assemble it and as soon as I laid out all the pieces I told my friend "It's going to take forever to assemble all these prims". |

I'll throw in another one....I have caught myself replacing normal RL terms with terms used in SL. I do this, particularly in context of "wow, that sure is a nice build!" Mari _____________________

I'm starting to use "rez" in FL: "I need to rez at the supermarket on my way home."
Vacant lots: some time ago I drove by a construction site where the basic shape of the building was in place, and the soon-to-be driveway was lined on either side with cubic pallets of concrete blocks, evenly spaced by forklift. In my subconscious I caught my self thinking of the pallets as boxes of freebies (on the ground by the entrance) and wishing I could take the time to stop and hover over each one to see if it contained anything interesting. _____________________

Oh, I've photosourced half of our house and garden already, including a rusty iron ladder...and a manhole cover from down the street.... _____________________

When I've been inworld too long, I find billboards and posters especially problematic. Clicking on them does not allow me to purchase the objects pictured, doesn't teleport me to their locations, doesn't even deliver a notecard. So what are they for?

...when you're faced with a big clean-up job and for a moment you think you can just rez a few archive prims and drag all the stuff to be cleaned up into the prim's contents, then take them back to inventory.
If only it were that easy... |
