Zindra land swaps: outstanding questions..

LL seems to be missing some details on the land swaps to the new adult continent, Zindra.

I'm looking to compile a list of outstanding questions/issues about the logistics of the land swaps. Not really interested in hearing about how badly the whole plan sucks or about how it doesn't accomplish any of the stated goals or etc, etc, etc..

1: Some friends & I own a bit more than a 1/2 mainland region right now. Can I do a ticket asking for an entire zindra region so we can all move at once?

2: When will the land tweaks be done there? I've heard that there are moles still digging..

3: I've seen some land that allows +/- 100m terraform - was this on purpose? Will these regions be keeping this setting?

4: I'm having a hard time finding any water that's not protected. I'd love a beach - will LL be willing to talk about extending parcels out into water a little bit?

5: Will LL consider extending the start date of people requesting moves by a week or two? There's a bunch of outstanding questions that make it very difficult to chose which parcels will suit my needs and, apparently, there's still some work going on there.. Will I just have to go through the entire area, again, region by region?

Sindy I'm just a resident but from what I understand you can put in a ticket for the land you'd like.

My guess would be, you could ask for a region at the sum total of your land if it's owned by the same person or group.

I'd go over it inch by inch if I were you and put in more than one request - first, second and third choices maybe?

Sindy, how did you tell that it allowed that kind of terraforming?

I ask because I had kind of the opposite question: which parts if any have no terraforming allowed at all? Is that perhaps a characteristic of the "city" sims, coded orange on the map posted in the blog?

But if there's a way to know terraforming limits, I could figure this out for myself.

Not in-world right now but, IIRC, it's in the popup you get from the World -> Region/Estate menu. Maybe the Land tab in there.

It's all the goodies that estate managers get to play with - you can still look at them even if you can't change them.

Well, if they're just not going to allow people any water access on riverfront properties, I can take all those regions off my choice list. Water I can't use is.. er.. of no use. Today I have about 10k m2 of prim-based pool. If I can get 'real' water instead, that will have a big impact on which land will work best for me.

Also, LL originally said that they would let somebody tier up on the swap - swap for more land than you have now - but then they went back and said you couldn't do that. Since I'm dealing with the swap for myself and my neighbor who's offline and in china for a couple weeks, knowing if they'll still allow this and if I can do it all in one swap would be really nice..

Experience has shown that more than one fairly busy club or store per region causes unacceptable lag There has been no assurance that this will not happen. On the current mainland you can see who is there now before you move in. With Ursula being a clean slate/everyone moves in at once situation, there is no way to find out who your neighbors will be.

How can we be sure that will not happen?

This one I will ask the question and give the answer for the benefit of other people.

There are several changes going on...and now some coastal parcels marked 'special coast' and coast 1...coast A...no info as to what that is..so hard to pick a parcel next to it incase it is unprotected...because there are also still protected bits too...

They have been extending some land into the water, bizzarely a parcel cutting across a bay with protected closer to the shore then another parcel following the coast..thereby offering the potential of someone building and cutting off the coastal plots view.............

Really not sure if this is being done after a heavy lunch, whether they dont care or have never tried developing a land parcel for real....

I suggest everyone goes back and double checks Zindra again.....

We have been asked for 3 choices but i suspect due to the heavy protections desireable land will be way over subscribed so maybe easier to give a list of 6 alternatives to save delays in the inevitable 'your choices aren't available please give more'
by which time more tickets could be dealt with and you end up even further back in the queue.

Not all the move tickets will be acted on right away, and it's likely they will need to add more Adult regions than they have active now.

How long will tickets be accepted, and when must old mainland be cleared of all adult rated content? This ties into when can you submit an AR for anyone who refuses to move or take away their adult content from existing mainland.

I'd like to know two things.

If a person is refused a free land swap, which many possibly will be, how can they continue their SL adult lifestyle that they have payed for in mature zones with out having to pay for more land again unnecessarily. Is it possible to "wait" for more free adult rated land to be built.

What is LL's AR process regarding this new 3rd rating of adult activity? Could we have a clear outline of how LL review an AR and what steps a person can reasonably take to avoid a false AR.

I'd like to 2nd this one. Since I have zero interest in the city areas with smaller parcels, would it be better to wait for round two?

Related: we _know_ LL has a ton more regions waiting to come online. If the current ones are _only_ for land swaps, doesn't this mean that established adult places are sorta getting a worse deal? It seems like there isn't enough land to squeeze us all in - wouldn't it be more fair to release more land than is needed than to have us all fighting for the few prime spots?

Changes going on.. Hmm...

When should I actually make a decision on which parcels to request? Do we know when they're going to be done changing things around? Is there any LL talk of what they're changing and what they'll be willing to change later?

We've spent _years_ building up our neighborhood. To have to guess at where we'll end up when we don't know what the choices really are is a sucky deal, period.

Don't bother moving. Zindra is exactly the same as mainland.

Yeh, people can have PG right next door to me on Zindra, it's still a bit different though, in nudity laws and a few little extra rights to freedom of existence.

We missed no 6 is there going to be anything in place to stop people aquiring land via the swap without a good reason just so they can sell the land the next day to make a proffit?
I've already heard somone was setting up vendors of BDSM stuff on a heap of 512m plots to get a swap, hopefully LL see through such a transparent charade without expense of genuine users.

Teraforming:
My understanding - from the landowners' brown bag meeting recording(?) - was that the City sims would not allow terraforming but that the Rural sims would do so.

Advanced / View Admin Options makes the Admin menu visible. The God Tools in this show a checkbox for Block Terraform.

The current settings don't conform to this City/Rural split universally.

The City sims appearl mostly non-terraform. Some Rural sims are non-terraform.
My theory B was that they were not allowing terraform where parcels immediately bordered the roads. That didn't fit either.
My theory C is that there is a lack of systematic checklist routine when they are setting up.



Land/Water mix.
They started in the NW corner and worked south along the coast. One has to get about half-way down before some decent-sized parcels cross the shoreline.
Much of this is described as "Unparcelled", so who knows?
The thing seems to be a work in progress.

The smaller parcels along the NW are really strange sizes. This confirms that people with commercialised adult content are seriously perverted.

I suspect that the parcels along the rivers will continue to exclude water.
The good thing about that is that some idiot won't be able to put up banlines to screw up boats. The bad thing is that riverside parcels will be useless for anyone currently allowing boat-rezzing, fishing, diving, swimming from their land.


The coastline parcelling seems to be an afterthought and a work-in progress.
I had started to map parcels but I've given up. Things might change.

From what i understand, only content creators/merchants will be given land swaps.

Places like CumFort Zone, and Bliss, will be screwed and basically shut down because they are not retailers, but instead are hang out places where people do the seXXorz, and hang out places/clubs will not be offered land swaps to Zindra.

Can anyone correct that information?

I think we can all see potential issues with this land swap business. I am hoping to have my whole "mature" mainland sim swapped for one on the "adult" continent. And not sure who posted it, but yeah there are gonna be issues with a "blank slate" since you don't know who is going to be your neighbor(s). And, I see no effort at zoning (residential vs commercial) in the new land either. Something that has been on many people's agenda for several years. Not everyone that comes to Zinda will be involved in commercial development, but wish to live there more to avoid being ARed for who knows what!

I guess my most important question is, while I do not currently create "adult" items for sale, I run a"adult" RP on my sim with violence and death with a myriad of poseballs available to the players. Because it is currently deconstructed due to the pending move, I am anxious to get this move over with to rebuild. It is a lot of work to rebuild, and I only want to do it once.

My biggest question is with the sim deconstructed is LL still going to consider my request for a land swap as is? Or, do I need to put the build back up as "proof" to swap?

Not authoritatively, but gee: Blondin kept talking about examples of adult *services*--he seemed to talk about those at least as much as about products, so... where did you get the opposite understanding?

/me nods.. I thought the example of a strip club with a back room for 'special' services was given as an example of something that would have to move. That wouldn't be content creation and calling it a 'merchant' would be a bit of a stretch.

If anything, I thought content creators and mechants were being given an out for forced moves by LL suggesting that they wouldn't need to move if they toned down their search keywords..

Will my"Tijuana Donkey Show" still be allowed on my mature parcel or do I need to land swap to the adult sims?
