He has written some pretty good articles regarding customer service!

That made me kinda hopeful, since lack of it is one of my biggest gripes here.

When you do a People search for M Linden using the old People search tab it drops the M and returns all the Lindens.

That sucks.

The new style search appears to drop the single letter and return some of the list of lindens and a bunch of other people - unsorted.

Lindens should have names that you can search for.

We should be able to search efficientlly for first initial and last name.

Maybe he can address this burning issue.

What he's going to do is to give Philip more time to steer the ship. Hopefully Linden Lab will no longer be the ship of fools it has been for the past three years.

We need Phil to get back to applying his vision again...

Wow. Really? I've been with a fair number of private, venture-backed companies ... I've never seen a chairman have any role at all in day-to-day operations, unless they were also the CEO. Strategic vision, sure. "Steering the ship?" People would expect the CEO to do that.

But, Philip is a creative guy. Perhaps he can make that happen ... somehow ... if he wants to. He has more industry experience than M does though, he knows how it works. IIt'll be really amazing to watch if he tries to "steer the ship" in any sort of hands-on way.

heh, I just checked his in world profile (Marcus Voom) and unless the search is borked again it is a blank slate. No pic, no payment info on file, no groups.. nothing. He doesn't appear to have dabbled much with SL lol.

Of course, search could be borked.

You can find him in the searches, but in the old search you have to look from the beginning of the list up to the M's.

The new search does list him. I overlooked him because it's not in alphabetical order, and he only has one line. N00b.

I was calling him a n00b.

No, the press release was issued first, by LEWIS PR, which is Linden Labs' official PR firm. We got it at the same time Reuters did.

It's a blank profile on the beta grid as well (snapshot seems to be from around January 6th) so either he was very thorough, or there was never anything there in the first place.

Coupla things...

SL search CLEARLY needs some work.. if LL is going to break it's own naming rules. Searching for [M Linden] gets you this result:

Mari suggests you have to put the M in quotes... but most people aren't gonna know that, it seems silly that searching for the company's CEO gets you a big "DONK" noise and an error.

Oh and this little gem:

What does it say about your company, if the person you hire as a CEO doesn't trust you with even his paypal email address?

Searching for [M Linden] gets you this result: Mari suggests you have to put the M in quotes... but most people aren't gonna know that, it seems silly that searching for the company's CEO gets you a big "DONK" noise and an error.
