I shall therefore dress head to toe in leather, affect a limp and tolerate absolutely no nonsense from anyone in a particularly humourless way.

..and in one sentence you have summed up the entire series.

lol - Mad Max Herzog. I like it.

I bought a leg brace ages ago, I love it, sorry it's not transfer but if you want one I'll see if the place still exists, I may even pop by the hangout and model it for you :)

This is WAAAAAAy toooooo scarey a thought! But what would I do?

After I got released from the hospital for having a slight break down (just kidding). I would come home and start emailing my SL friends, some of us talked on Yahoo before Second Life guess we could do that again.....

DANG why did I have to read this thread!

Bec

PS what would happen to my cat named Bo and my fish named Fred? They wouldnt get fed.

I'd try logging in a few times over the following days, in futile hope. Then after about a week I would frantically dig up the email addresses of the 2 or 3 SL friends with whom I have exchanged emails, and see if I could get in touch with them. Maybe see if they wanted to be penpals or whatever. Mostly, I would just get on with my life and find some other hobby to consume my time and money and energy.

-----

As opposed to a sudden death, what if SL just got progressively worse, with a seemingly neverending succession of service issues and outages, such that it became more and more frustrating to log on and actually use the system, till eventually people just stopped logging in, and then more and more people just gradually discovered they had less frustration in life when they didn't log in, and SL eventually just faded away?

Who'll be the one to turn the lights out that last time, make sure all the racks of servers have been powered down, shake his head about what might've been, then close the door and walk away?

My corpse would be discovered some time later.
The login page burnt into the screen in front of me
My body wasted away - except for the index finger, which would have sucked every scrap of life from the rest of me.
Under the finger would be a mouse in the last stages of disintegration from constant clicking.
On my face - a twisted expression of anguish so extreme that it would become a whispered legend in scary story world.

You know, at this juncture with all the numerous NON-FIXED and NON-CARED about problems and the grave lack of communication and truth from the upper eschilon at LL, I'd probably be relieved!!!!

This game seems totally out of Linden control or concern for a long time now and I think they have stolen enough from all of us who have turned to them for help, communication, support, explanation, leadership, honesty and some kind of compensation for all our monies lost, inventory lost, land stolen by bots.

I think most of us would find that we appreciated real life far more than we did before we found this game and embrace it with a new sense of appreciation!
I feel beyond betrayed at the moment and have not spent a dime in SL in the past month other than to pay my tier, which I doubt I will be doing for much longer. It just isnt worth it anymore...

This game used to be so much fun and had so much potential, but the further things deteriorate and the more the friends I have lost to their quitting this madness, the more I realize that if SL died, it would be to the betterment of all us in many different ways and we would actually be grateful for it's demise.
Many of us have lost more than we have found in this game, other than the friendships we have made. I think that it is just this, our friendships, that is the glue here and as someone said, we can always keep in touch with each other in many different ways and not have this constant barrage of problems attacking us on a minute by minute basis.
I think of the hurts, the disappointments, the stresses, and the money I have lost in this game and it just baffles me as to why I bother. I mean, honestly.

If SL does suddenly die, how much money would you be out on top of what you've already lost? Sorry but "Hope is the Anchor" and my hope of this game finding it's way to the fun it used to be has slowly died and I am prepared to lay it aside at a moments notice... LL just doesn't appear to care about any of us anymore and I for one am brought to the brink of this nonsense...

Well, I am hotwired into SL (kinda like in the movie TRON) so...if it DID...I would die a quick death.

Everyone here is familiar with the Mad Max series of movies, right? If LL died, it would be a lot like that.

4'-8" Teeny Leviathan would find a giant, docile oaf to ride, and would call the duo MasterBlaster. :D

Anyway, I guess I'd have an extra $40 to spend every month. I could spend more time on my PS3, and maybe when the end of time arrives and Sony finally releases Home, I could hang out there.

Meanwhile, numerous griefers with their dozens of alts would suddenly realize their only reason to live has been taken away, and they hang themselves.

I suppose if Linden Lab went out of business we could discuss Second Life's demise without worrying about putting ® and ™ and such on the discussions.

Blogger party time!

I suppose I'd have to text my SL boyfriend and suggest meeting up in this other MUD called "real life" :)
