OK... horror vision but...
What if SL died suddenly - out of the blue - what would be your first thoughts and what would you do ?
(Btw I´m sleeping much calmer since I made sure to be able to contact those who became part of my life...)

First thought: It finally happened.
What would I do? See what is going on in There.com. ![]() _____________________

I would turn on the TV and watch it... or read a book, go for a walk, find another game to pass my time
it would not be the end of the world, life would move on *much like it is for me right now, as I can not do anything in SL, I just logged off and said the heck with it for now* _____________________

I'd probably get back to work on fixing up my old VW. With gas prices the way they are, I really need to be driving it more anyway.

What if SL died suddenly - out of the blue - what would be your first thoughts and what would you do ? First thought: Damn I knew this was going to happen...I wonder if I will ever get any of my money back? Do: go to the SLX and SLUniverse websites to see what everyone was saying about it...assuming this one was closed. _____________________

I wonder if that would be better than this slow, painful death we are witnessing now...

Put my money in the bank, pick up a good book, sit under a REAL tree and relax.

First I'd compulsively recite a little T.S. Elliot ...
"... not with a bang but a whimper..." Then I'd spend a lot more time trying to figure out VastPark. _____________________

I'll admit it...I'd be sad. I would get over it, there are lots of things I enjoy doing, but it would be a bummer.

I suppose I'd try to find out what happened. Make a blog post wishing the Lindens good luck. Read and post on facebook about it. Curse the loss of my linden balance.
So far as alternative virtual worlds, there's there.com, as mentioned above, and good old Active Worlds, plus Hipihi and Novoking in development, and Vast Park, also mentioned above. There's also the Japanese based Meet-Me, which I'd love to try but I think you have to do some typing in Japanese in order to register. Theres's also old Cybertown, and for those who like to play games, there's World of Warcraft and the Entropia offerings. Those who want to chat and play some short term sports style games might try Empire of Sports. _____________________

Well, you know that scientists are predicting the "big one" is going to happen on the west coast sooner or later - LL will get sucked in by the earthquake and then SL is pretty much screwed.
Yeah, it's morbid, but you said "horror vision" and that's what comes to mind. |

I wouldn't move to There.com. I'm afraid it doesn't compare.
I'd do the same things I did before I heard of SL. I'd read, make paintings, play at making electronica, write, hike, try to learn 3d rendering, explore the real world, dabble in photography, study music history and art history, and above all, love my friends. There are about 637 trillion things to do every minute, and I want to do them all. |

Well, my first thought would probably be, "If I'd known that was going to happen, I wouldn't have spent $10 on linden dollars last night. Darn."
I'd probably check in a few times to see whether it might come back (assuming SL just vanished; if there was a message stating it was gone I'd probably check anyway, but that's me...) And then I'd catch up on my reading and clean my house and go do stuff with the kids. And hang out on some message boards a lot more than I do right now. It would be the end of an era - but not the end of the world. _____________________

I'd clean up my laptop, get rid of the gazillion textures that I've been hoarding and not using, then probably get back into my Sims2. I'd use what I've learned in SL to create some custom content...maybe even buy the new expansion pack, and rejoin (grovel back to) my friends on the Sims2 forum that I left when I joined SL.

the brewery would be back in full force thats for sure and i'd be able to afford some much needed equiptment.
other than that i'd probably be playing WOW, that pirates game or the sci fi one i hear people on here talking about. none of them seem to have a building element like SL does so i doubt i'll spend as much time on them. probably a good thing ![]() -Crunch _____________________

I guess the gonzo in charge of the Church of the Square Red Cube would be right. We'd have been Holy Primmed.
