Remember please to take off your hair....

Lol I just was at the clothing fair, I could have swum thru week old jello more easily. Thinking, ok...I'll try a different sim because everyone is landing here since it just opened...but it was just as bad.

What is it about our vanity that some of us cannot take off the attachments, the hair, and go barefoot? As I flew (slowly) about with my ARC of 1, I couldn't help but notice ARCs of 4k, 5k, even 6k...I know ARC isn't the be all and end all of measurment but dang....

I guess I will go back in the wee hours...

(if you are wondering about what my question is, it is stated in the third paragraph :P)

A sex-linked characteristic perhaps?

If I go at all, it'll be at 2:30 in the morning SLT, when the rest of the divas are sleeping ;)

Agreed. Men playing female avatars are probably very reluctant to let go of the accessories they use to project their feminine image. :p

Because the point of the avatar to a large degree, at least for me, is to dress it up. If I have to worry about what I put on my dolly when she goes out, then she ain't going.

And by dress it up, I mean it's total form/look. Not just clothing wise.

To answer the question, No. I stay away from those lagfests. My computer just can't handle them. I never get to mover around enough to buy anything. Even if I went bare naked and bald.

Let me know if there's many men's clothes. I'm especially interested in items that will show off my glorious ass.

I think this is pretty much it. What is the point of spending all the time and money on an avatar when every time there is an event where their might be other people who would actually see it we have to take off everything? I try to be a good citizen and attend in my low arc finest, but I understand the frustration.

I actually think it is funny that this tends to be such a big problem at fairs like this one and hair fair. --Come here and buy these great accessories, but for god's sake don't WEAR them here! You'll crash us all!!--

another thing that amazes me is shops there using vendors. Don't vendors cause lag?

Yes, I'll go, but probably not at peak hours on the first day. The Hair Fair was bad early on, but no problem the last few days. Beat the crowd by not trying to beat the crowd.

For Brann and anyone else who hasn't heard about it or wants to see a list of vendors participating here is a link to the blog/website for the event. The website lists vendors by sim, so if there are some in particular you want to see you should be able to use that to find them.

http://slrflclothingfair.blogspot.com/

I'm not affiliated with this event in any way and only know about it because I have been passed a few notecards inworld. I believe it is a 9 sim fair with 170 vendors. The event runs from March 16th - March 22nd and they are raising money for Relay For Life.

I don't recognize most of the vendors on that list.

Anyone know if any of them plan to show GUY STUFFZ?

hehe...I feel like that guy on the soapbox in the town square predicting Armageddon.

I share your pain. Hunts and fairs like these always offer little or nothing for guys. Hello World, we shop too.

I think I'm skipping this one. Last fair I went to, I was naked (no joke, I wore my "jester skin, a multi-colored affair which didn't really show the naughty bits), bald and shoeless and could barely move. I hardly purchased anything, and the highlight if I remember correctly was meeting up with Soji at some point (could be confusing it one of several fests). I don't need to add to my inventory, so it's a no go for this girl.

The only reason I was going to check it out is because it does benefit Relay for Life. I figured I might find some good skins deals. I'm going back but yup, like middle of the night somewhere in the world on maybe March 20.

I was severely disappointed at Shoe Fair. I went armed with fistfuls of Lindens, but found a lot of what I already own, or new stuff that didn't interest me.

I didn't know about this before so this should be something interesting to do tonight after 11pm SLT.
*sighs* .. and it just might cost me a fortune
There are some awesome designers participating, I just got payed, and my splurge immune system is very weak ATM lol.

what he said.

open letter to the fashion shops:

i'm here, sitting on 5500L$ right now, those will most likely go toward manjis sports cars, motor loon bikes, or jacqueline trudeaus latest creation, since i hardly ever see anything new and good for guys as far as clothes go, except for the occasional bare rose partnerlook piece which usually is more in the nature of a costume.

i could not care less about a virtual fundraiser for a charity in a country that to a large degree does not even acknowledge the existance of the world outside its borders.

now, if there was an european RfL, or german even, that would be a different thing.
But as it stands now i will do my donating for good causes outside SL, as usual.
