I remember the second one (it was stupid) but not the vowels one. What was that about?

Disemvowelment. A way that moderators can show their displeasure with a post, without opening them up to the charge of having stifled expression by completely removing the post.

Sad to see Katt go, hope the interaction side of things keeps pumping I was beginning to think Linden Lab were starting to open their ears to their customer's wants and needs...

(Dunno if the alleged ToS violation was for disclosure, trademark, or dispensing carbonated beverages without developer certification. In any case, now that Mal has reported it, the Forums will be safe again. )

She gave me my only warning, too. I kinda took it as a hint to forum regulars that there was a new sheriff in town and we should stop acting like we owned the joint. Which would have been good advice, not that I paid any attention.

I forgot to log Jack's office hour yesterday, but he did mention that the blog upgrade was still proceeding, in response to a question about the forums software change. And the whole point was supposed to be to integrate the blog and forums, so presumably it's still on the horizon. (That SQL keyword filter is really annoying. I mean, I know SQL, and I know what the filter is trying to do, and still I end up scratching my head, trying to find what triggered it. Imagine what new posters must think when they get the ever-so-helpful "not authorized" error.)

During her tenure, Katt did a few things that irked me; I don't remember if I ever vented about it. I hope not. Really, *lack* of communication was and has always been the problem, so it would have been counterproductive to criticize what communications there were.

So she actually disemvoweled a post? lol. Anyone got a URL? - I'd love to see it. What a silly thing to do. I sounds like she really wasn't suited to the job.

I'm *very* surprised at who received warnings from her. I never received one but there have been occasions when a warning wouldn't have surprised me, even though I would rejected it in writing. I feel ignored and hurt

She only did one thing, and she corrected it but not until it was too late, and that was to start on about "getting the popcorn" when the openspace saga started (she deleted it when the storm hit). Frankly, for something so grossly incompetent and insensitive to client needs and the general good of the company paying your salary I was disgusted. Heyho.

If she has gone then its goodbye to just another PR/Marketing bimbo with delusions of power that her role as moderator allowed her to indulge. In thirty years in business I havent met one yet I would allow to send out a press release without it being spellchecked by someone more literate especially if it included long words like communications which is a bit unfortunate really. But dont worry I am sure there will be another one along in a minute probably to disemvowel me.

Did you ever get around to asking her for sex? Maybe she was the one that felt hurt and ignored and put you on mute?

I gave her a little leeway at first considering that the part of the Tao that covers Customer Relations was written by Nero and Marie Antoinette, but she was ill suited for the position, especially in the Forum department.

Damn! That's where I went wrong - the reason I didn't get a warning. I won't make the same mistake again - unless the next one is a guy, of course.

There's something to that. I've moderated a forum, and it is truly a thankless task. You are always going to tick SOMEBODY off.

I think Strife did a marvelous job, even though he locked a few of my posts.
