I looked at the employment section of LL's website, and Katt's job is not listed there. However, it looks like Linden HR has changed their posting policy - they no longer list every job that is open, each with its own eclectic title and description. Instead, they have many fewer listings, and the job titles are more industry standard. There are some catchall job descriptions for Developers and Product Managers of all types that will probably be posted for as long as LL is hiring anyone; it looks like they will only post specific jobs in those areas if they are very unique.
There is a job called "Customer Relations Project Manager" which is impossibly huge and could feasibly include Katt's responsibilities. Hard to tell. .

From: Meade Paravane The number of people that seem to delight in trashing Lindens personally is something I've always found a little disturbing. I think any company representative gets unjustified adulation and attacks on top of praise and disapproval they have personally earned. Mountainous country, Lindenworld.

From: Nika Talaj I note that Katt Linden no longer has a visible inworld profile. Her last post here was 1/12, and I would think that as Communications Manager she would have been involved in recent announcements. Has she left LL? Her profile just came up fine for me via search... but her Linden Village plot is cleared (As LtB already noted!)

From: LittleToe Bartlett I built Katt's office on her Linden parcel, and it was all returned to me, today. Didn't someone suggest a pool on how long she would last? Yeh, Communication Linden is a rough job.

Related, bit of old news but something I haven't seen mentioned here, is that Sidewinder has also left LL. From: Marianne McCann Her profile just came up fine for me via search... but her Linden Village plot is cleared (As LtB already noted!) I looked last night - she was still in Search/All but Search/People didn't show her any more.

If they're trading a spin manager for a database manager, I'm all for it.

This may be a minority opinion, but the vast majority of SL residents are unbelievably cool, and will bend over backwards with time, goodwill and their wallets *if given a good reason why they should do so*. It doesn't take much. Everyone gets "we made a mistake" or "we need to do X because of (insert tech mumbo jumbo 2% can read)." Grumbling, sure, but also with the deep understanding that people are human. If someone came out tomorrow and said: "People, we need to make X dollars to ensure the SL of the future" money would flow out of the woodwork. But if it was stated as "Rates are now X, kthxbye!" money would flow into World of Warcraft instead. And that's the bad stuff. As for the fluff, like say: "Moar primz!" a chimpanzee could deliver that message. Being a communications person for Linden Research can only be as bad as anyone makes it to be ~ provided you are allowed to actually, you know... communicate.

Sometimes I think being Goodwill Ambassador for the Third Reich would have been an easier job.

If not mentioned by now.. Lindens can hide themselves from search.

BTW: Threads infringing ToS, if you're concerned about having no moderator, can be sent as in-world AR's. Just paste the forum link and a quote of the abuse/ToS infringement and a member of the G-Team will sort it out.

Well I for one am not sorry to see Katt go. No one remembers her stupid idea of taking vowels out of words? Or what about the thread where she was deleting posts because they referenced what a Linden said?
3 years here with nary a problem and who is the one Moderator who issued me a warning? Katt!, and this was for expounding on a comment Marianne made in a Linden thread. Something to do with kid avies? A person asked what Marianne was referring to and I was being helpful and posted a 1 sentence reply. (EDIT: Now I remember, this was concerning the child skin vendors being pulled) There are others here with spotless records and a history of helping that were also given warnings for various perceived misdeeds.
Now should I carry on? Well what about the fact that this forum is in worse technical shape now then it was before Katt's arrival? Not only forum software that would be a candidate for "Antiques Roadshow" but now we have the stupid sql keyword filter in place.
So yeah! Bye Katt and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
EDIT: I feel I should come back and put in this disclaimer. I am definitely not against Moderation. I personally loved the job that Strife did, even thou some may not feel the same. I am also a member of some forums that are extremely strict, but in their case the moderation is still even and fair and I am fine with that.

From: Soap Clawtooth Steady. Technically that's a violation of the ToS. ZOMGZ! Just to be clear, the jingle was a joke. It contains an oblique reference to a bizarre thread on a 3rd party website frequented by many here which absurdly asserted that another forumite was a Linden. No one referenced above, including most emphatically myself, is actually a Linden. And, no Lindens were harmed during the making of this thread.

/me considers if I should start looking at their jobs page in case they are hiring someone who has got the online gaming experience to deal with the whole shebang ... /me looks again I don't think they'd hire me anyway

I thought the last paragraph from Tateru at Massively was interesting ...
"Ms Craig was the most responsive Communications person we've worked with at Linden Lab to-date."
I can't speak to how she well she performed in terms of her PR duties and how well she dealt with various media outlets, but there sure could be some improvements in communications with residents. Perhaps they need to split those responsibilities into separate jobs.

From: Malachi Petunia Reported. Reported for the thing Nika said? WOW. Some people really do have too much time on their hands and nothing much to worry about. If that's the biggest stick in your craw I truly envy you.
