Hi there... Looking for advice from you all, While I was in my skybox, somebody appeared onto the balcony and repeatedly tried the door..When I told him that this Skybox was private property, he carried on trying the door and then just walking around the balcony for about 5 minutes...During this time I contacted the landlord and asked for his help, I also told the intruder that I had contacted the landlord...Then about 5 minutes later, after he repeatedly walked into the wall, he then appeared in the skybox..He walked all around the skybox and totally ignored my repeated requests for him to leave...While he was there, the landlord came to the skybox, the 2 of them confronted each other and then the intruder was ejected and banned from the sim by the landlord... I am puzzled as to how he was able to get in, as the landlord said it looked like he used "The Poseball trick." Can anyone tell me what this means??? Also why the insistance that he got into the skybox with me there..Also why wait for the landlord to appear and stay until he was ejected..As he saw the landlord TP in and it was about 5 minutes of confrontation before he was ejected... Since this the security on the skybox has now been upgraded, and any avatar not on my access list will be ejected, as soon as they are detected on the property...

'the posebal trick' = standing outside, camming in the room, and selecting 'sit' on a poseball or chair.

Thank God for banlines. They nip this problem in the bud.

From: Nina Stepford nice troll chris, but hes in a skybox. Then that calls for banlines to be extended to as high as the build limit. Simply a matter of private property rights.

If you ask really nicely, you landlord may provide a security system. I use the psyke orb in my office, but i find something like Hippo more user friendly in houses.

Unless your landlord is a real knob or just really stupid, you should have been able to eject him yourself.

also asking the landlord to add his name to the property's banlist would be nice. It means only HE bumps into the ugly tapes

Thanks again for all the help on the security side...That has now been dealt with..My main concern is WHY did he want to get in, even though he knew I was there...Also WHY did he stay until the landlord ejected him from the skybox...This behaviour does not add up..

dont lose sleep over him. he was probably just curious, and the locked door only heightened his curiousity. i doubt there is anything at all nefarious about his motives. From: RandyChris Nightfire It is the Hippo security system that has been put in..But I am really puzzled as to his behaviour..I really need help on this matter...

Maybe it was raining outside and he didn't got his umbrella with him Do you have access to the lot ban list? I am not sure if you have those rights.

Why is the sky blue, why do pigs fly? SL brings out the weird in people, at times.

As he found out that turned out to be so not true =)

Most likely to chuckle at your confusion. And he probably felt he won the confrontation with the landlord, buying a full 5 minutes of actually discussing (and likely riling up the landlord) before being ejected. It looks a lot like the "ramp it up slowly and see how far you can get" game.

By far the funniest and easiest solution to unwanted intruders are killer bees. I rent a quarter sim island and have a couple of beehives strategically placed. If anyone intrudes, the bees attack them. It's funny to see the intruder confusedly hopping and jumping about as the bees sting them. One guy jumped in the pond to try and shake them off! They don't hang about long. You sometimes pray for an intruder just for the entertainment value. You can switch the hives on or off, set the distance and add access and a friends' list. If anyone's interested, I'll look up the LM where I got them.I think they were L$550. I believe the maker also has something similar where intruders get struck by lightning. I might get that as well. It's all good stuff.

Killer bees ??? ooo! I like the chickens that peck your feet and make you bounce. People who make these things are really inventive and clever =) So much more creative than stupid cylinders that just try and push you.

Once they have refused to leave, one mutes them, sits on a prim and takes whatever measures are necessary to remove them.

I TPed into a big Sim FULL of shops (my FIRST time there, ever) about 2 days ago...the owner of the Sim and a co-owner (seemed to be his girlfriend) TP right up to me, blast my avatar up w/ submachineguns & then eject & ban me. ...guess they didn't need the money. *shrugs*

This may sound crazy, but I feel a bit sympathetic because when I first started, I had no idea there were places people didn't want you to go and stuff. I freely walked around in homes like I would a website
